00:00This is the first stop of many. We're going to all 78 donor centres around Australia on a mission

00:05to save 100,000 lives. We're dedicating 12 months to this project. Donating fortnightly to cover all

00:11of them myself would take three years. That's probably a bit too much of an ordeal to put the

00:15kids through. So we're starting with one year. I'll donate every fortnight and we'll recruit

00:20other people and do promotional events and plasma parties. Like today we have one of our family team

00:26members Mary donating here at Tareg. We're doing it over three legs. First leg is from Central Coast

00:33to Cairns and back and then the kids can visit mum and their grandparents and other friends.

00:39Second leg is going to be down through Vic and Taz and back and then last leg across to Adelaide

00:47the centre up in Darwin, around to Perth and the half dozen centres over here and then back

00:52through Adelaide and home. So we'll do it over three legs about three months each. So this is

00:57really important to me. It's such a big mission and it's something I've wanted to do with the

01:02kids for a while so it makes sense now. I started donating when I was 16 and first eligible though

01:08it's 18 now and it's been 25 years and being a blood donor became more part of my identity

01:14than something that I did and donating blood feels really good. Now last year I had a lot

01:20of challenges in my life, some big changes and challenges but I kept donating and doing that

01:25really helped pull me through it. Now I was significantly helping people that were in worse

01:30situations than me and that really lifted my spirits and drove me on and that's something that

01:34I really want to share with others. Doing good feels good. A lot of people think about it but

01:38it's never front of mind. Make your next booking, go out there and try it, have fun, bring it with
