00:00It's been a little more than two years since Sandra Bullock announced that she was taking

00:03an indefinite break from acting to focus on life at home with her children Louis, who

00:08was 14, and Layla, who was 11.

00:10Last August, her partner of eight years, photographer Brian Randall, tragically died at the age

00:15of 57 following a secret battle with ALS.

00:19A source tells us in this week's Cover Story,

00:22She took care of Randall during his illness.

00:24Sandra needed the break to be with her family and Brian.

00:27Losing him has been one of the hardest experiences Sandra's gone through.

00:31But with new projects on the horizon and her milestone 60th birthday to celebrate, sources

00:36tell Us Weekly that Sandra is feeling good and looking forward to what's next.

00:41They add that Sandra missed acting.

00:43She's excited about what the future holds.

00:45She's ready to get back in the game.

00:47And one of those projects is re-teaming with Nicole Kidman for Practical Magic 2, which

00:51is slated to come out in 2025, 27 years after the original.

00:56An insider tells Us, Sandra's really excited about Practical Magic 2.

01:00Nicole is someone she adores and she can't wait to spend more time with her.

01:04In the meantime, she's been keeping busy with her children.

01:07A source tells Us, Sandra's a really hands-on mom.

01:10The kids are involved in sports and she attends all their games.

01:14They all love the outdoors and go on bike rides and hikes together.

01:17The first source says that Bullock is open to the possibility of dating in the future.

01:22But for now, she's healing slowly, keeping Brian's memory alive and focusing on her children.

01:27And she is celebrating 60 by making it a time for reflection, with a source saying,

01:32From Sandra's perspective, apart from a couple of lucky breaks, her career is the result

01:36of very hard work by her and her team.

01:39In that sense, turning 60 really is something to celebrate.
