00:13Good to see you. Now Rene's a very, you know, excited girl because she's got a couple of
00:18great gigs with Ray Charles, Summer at the Bowl concert which is happening on Friday,
00:23tomorrow, 22nd of February at the Sydney Mar Music Bowl, booking through Ticketmaster 7
00:27and also the Wyndham Estate Winery show which is happening on Saturday of this week, 23rd
00:32of February and bookings there through the Wyndham Estate Winery. So, good gig. Have
00:38you worked with Ray Charles before? Never. I'm a huge fan from when I was very, very
00:42young. Have you met him? Never met him. Well I was lucky enough to have him on the show
00:46and he really is a delightful man. We've actually got some footage of him on GMA. There he is,
00:52right, just a moment, there he is. That's naughty. You know that's not him immediately?
00:57I know immediately that's not him. How do you know? He just wouldn't let you do that
01:01to him. Do what? Anything. I didn't do anything at all. Look at his head, it doesn't look
01:07at all like him. No, well it's just that it's actually John Foreman's foster father and
01:12we wanted to welcome him on that morning. Speaking of welcoming people, you've got your
01:15cousins that you've never met before. My cousin and his daughter, Joel and Beena. Joel and
01:20Beena, welcome, welcome, welcome. It's great to have you here. Visiting from Cologne. And
01:25the first time that you've met? Well we've met sort of by letter and phone but we've
01:30never all been together, yeah. Have they seen you sing before? I think they saw me when
01:36I toured with Joe Cocker and I did a TV show and they saw me on TV and then just today.
01:43Well that's great, so welcome. It's terrific to have them here and I know that you're thrilled
01:46about that. All kidding aside, working with Ray Charles would be a huge thrill for you,
01:50wouldn't it? It's going to be amazing because I mean Aretha Franklin and Ray Charles are
01:55the two people that influenced me so much when I was young so it'll be great. I don't
01:59even know if I'll get to meet him but hopefully I will and shake his hand. It'll be a very
02:04sweaty handshake because you know when you know that a person only has your hand to go
02:08by, it's always, you get sort of nervous. You've got another couple of gigs too that
02:12you want to talk about? I'm actually doing a show on the 11th of May at the Athenaeum,
02:18a special show with some very special friends, some people, Spencer P Jones and Ross Hannaford
02:24and I'm going to present the new material that I've been working on because we're doing
02:28an album. When's that Renee? 11th of May at the Athenaeum in Melbourne. Great. Well good
02:33luck for the gig tomorrow and also for Saturday. Let me just plug again that Renee is going
02:37to be live under the stars at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl with Ray Charles, the legendary
