James Copenhaver, Second Victim in Trump Assassination Attempt, Released from Hospital

**Butler, Pennsylvania** — The second individual injured during the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump has been released from the hospital. James Copenhaver, 74, was discharged on July 26, following a critical injury at Trump's rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, according to Dan Laurent, Vice President of Corporate Communications for Allegheny Health Network.

Copenhaver, who sustained life-altering injuries during the shooting, had been receiving treatment at Allegheny General Hospital. In a statement, his family expressed gratitude for the public's support: "The Copenhaver family would like to thank you for your continued thoughts, prayers, and support as Jim and his family recover from this horrible, senseless, and unnecessary act of violence."

David Dutch, 57, another victim of the shooting, was discharged from the same hospital on July 24. The tragic event also claimed the life of former fire chief Corey Comperatore, 50, who heroically shielded his wife and two daughters during the chaos.

The shooting occurred just minutes into Trump's rally on July 13. The FBI later confirmed that a bullet or its fragments grazed Trump's ear. The gunman, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was shot and killed by a Secret Service sharpshooter.
