00:00We are joined today by an incredible woman who I
00:05just met.
00:06I took a picture backstage.
00:08Shannon Owen, the widow of Pope County Deputy Josh
00:12Owen, last year.
00:15Very handsome.
00:16Josh was on his 44th birthday, right on his
00:20birthday.
00:21He was out for a steak dinner with Shannon and
00:25his 10-year-old son when he got a call to — it was
00:29a problem, a domestic disturbance.
00:32A short time later, Shannon got the news that
00:34her husband was shot and killed in the line of
00:37duty.
00:38Shannon, we grieve for your loss, and we know how
00:41great a man he was.
00:42The police officers told me, told everybody else
00:46how great a man he was.
00:47And we are immeasurably grateful for your
00:51sacrifice.
00:52I would love to ask Shannon to come up for a
00:54moment.
00:55Shannon, can you do that?
00:56Can you do that?
00:57Shannon?
00:57Thank you, everybody.
01:17Sorry you couldn't hear me that well earlier.
01:19I hope you can hear me now.
01:21I really appreciate you giving me a chance to
01:24talk about Josh.
01:25There's so many of them out there right now that
01:27need our help, though.
01:29We need to back the blue.
01:30And we need to say what Trump said and overfund
01:39the police.
01:41Thank you, Shannon.
01:47Incredible.
01:56Beautiful family that has to go.
01:58She has to go through that.
