00:00Tonight, Jeopardy's most elite competitors begin an epic battle.

00:05Victoria Gross, winner of the Invitational Tournament against Jeopardy's best from past and present.

00:12Yogesh Raut, Tournament of Champions winner against the largest field in Jeopardy's history.

00:18Amy Snyder, an undeniable record holder best known for her historic 40-game streak, facing last year's Masters Finals.

00:28Matt Amodio, the only current player to have won a game against James Hohzauer.

00:34Matea Roach, last year's second place winner and youngest Masters competitor.

00:39And James Hohzauer, 2023 Masters Champion, back to defend his title.

01:39And now, here is the host of Jeopardy! Masters, Ken Jennings.

01:47And welcome, everyone, to the highly anticipated return of Jeopardy! Masters.

01:51Over the next three weeks, we will watch six of Jeopardy!'s best battle it out with the ultimate title on the line.

01:57Jeopardy! Masters takes place over a series of quarterfinal, semifinal, and final games.

02:03Here's how that works.

02:05We'll play two games in every episode.

02:07Three of our Masters play in the first game, the other three in the second.

02:11Match points are awarded after each game.

02:14The winner receives three match points.

02:16You get one match point for finishing second, zero match points for finishing third.

02:20In the end, the three players with the top match point totals advance to our finals,

02:26with the chance to win half a million dollars and the coveted Trebek trophy.

02:30So there's a lot of Jeopardy! to be played here on the stage, and a lot at stake for our contestants.

02:35First up to compete, two of last season's Jeopardy! Masters, Matea Roach and Matt Amodio,

02:40are joined by Masters newcomer, Victoria Gross.
