Opposition to revised plans for Cuxton Winery

00:00Inappropriate development in our eyes and in the eyes nationally of something

00:07called the National Policy Planning Framework is development that is in the

00:11wrong place and there are a number of rules and regulations and guidelines

00:16which help local authorities determine whether a location is appropriate or it

00:23isn't. The problem with this one is that it's so enormous. It is already the

00:31biggest vineyard in the UK and will get bigger and the building proposed when we

00:38saw the plans was so enormous and of such a scale that it would seriously

00:44impact the national landscape here on the North Kent Downs in all

00:51sorts of ways but to sum up the inspector at the public inquiry

00:56effectively said that it would be a major urbanizing element within an

01:02unspoilt rural landscape and it would spoil and damage the reasons for which

01:08that landscape was designated.
