Sophie Mei Lan Malin tells us why female urinal The Peequal is changing the experience of female festival-goers.

00:00What do you think about feminine urinals at festivals?
00:03I love them. The queue is so much quicker, it's really clean, everybody's really nice and friendly
00:08and the ones that I've been to, the Epiphany Center, it's been brilliant as well.
00:12And how much quicker is it for you using one of those compared to like a port-a-loo or...?
00:17I'd probably say like half the time I'm queuing, especially like at a festival because people are
00:23wanting to rush through and having a wee and all the girls are kind of like
00:27crowding each other to go quite fast. So yeah, it was great. And you can see the queue moving
00:31quite quickly, so like you know that it's happening rather than just standing in a
00:36port-a-loo queue where you don't know how long someone's been in there for you.
00:38And is it quite sociable?
00:40Yeah, really sociable. They have a place where you can like hang your bag and like
00:44all this kind of stuff. And then I've got a sticker, like you know, they give you stickers
00:49when you leave, so kind of like trying to prevent more people going, which is really nice.
00:54What do you think about having more feminine urinals at festivals?
01:00Yeah, anything that makes women feel safe would be a good idea.
01:05More bogs, yeah, whatever. I guess it's a queue shorter. I don't know what a feminine urinal is,
01:10but if there's a queue shorter for the bogs, yeah, it'll work for me.
01:14How do you feel about female urinals at festivals?
01:17Well, to be honest, any urinals are a win because most of the time after a couple,
01:21after a day or so, you don't want to go to any. So yeah, to be fair, I think
01:26any urinal you can get to that's actually usable is good.
