00:00Venezuela completed the auditing of its voting machines ahead of the presidential elections
00:04of July 28.
00:06Our special envoy Juno Soner witnessed the procedure and has the details from Caracas.
00:13The National Electoral Council of Venezuela, the country's only institution to supervise
00:17elections and announce results, invited to a storehouse in Filas de Mariches in the eastern
00:22part of Caracas.
00:24What do we test today?
00:31We test the start of the machine, the zero record of the machine what they call the zero
00:35record, to ensure there are no voters loaded into the machine.
00:40We validate the integrity of data, that is, that everything that was audited is what the
00:44machine contains, we further validate the act of voting, the counting process, transmission
00:49process and the totalization process, and we validate, right?
00:56That the paper ballot with the tally sheet and what was transmitted to the totalization
01:00matches 100%.
01:05Randomly chosen 163 voting machines are placed in the storehouse, each passes the entire
01:11voting process, around each of them several people observing the work.
01:18We have here more than 18 technicians from the political organizations that represent
01:22the 10 alliances and include the 38 political organizations that are participating.
01:29Once the machine finishes work, each of them confirmed by signature it's working.
01:33In addition to all political parties, watchers from the United Nations and the Carter Center
01:38are also present.
01:40The president of the council takes a tour and helds a press conference.
01:47This is also an example for the world, as many countries and plenty of institutions
01:53have been criticizing Venezuela and today, many of those institutions are here, including
02:00international observers who have verified throughout all these days by performing audits
02:04alongside political parties, with the technicians of the National Electoral Council, with technicians
02:13from different universities.
02:17And today we feel very proud when we hear them saying this process is perfect.
02:23This was the 10th audition in preparation of the election.
02:27Six more tests are to come till July 28.
02:30Authorities informed that all voting machines, 30,026 in total, have been deployed all over
02:37the country.
02:41On July 28, we will have a great electoral party and we'll be at the end of the electoral
02:47process in the capacity to transmit the electoral results in the shortest possible time and
02:52subsequently proclaim the next president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
03:00Long live the homeland, long live Venezuela, and remember, everyone to vote on July 28,
03:10everyone to the ballot boxes.
03:15The electoral machinery is ready for July 28, the presidential elections here in Venezuela.
