01:56This summit is particularly meaningful
01:59as it marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations
02:03between Malaysia and China.
02:05Over the past five decades,
02:08our nations have built a strong foundation of friendship and cooperation.
02:13Today, as we celebrate this milestone,
02:16we look forward to deepening our partnership,
02:19especially in science, technology and innovation.
02:23As we are aware, the rapidly changing landscape
02:26of technology driven by advancements
02:29such as Artificial Intelligence, AI,
02:32has significantly transformed how we operate and interact.
02:36While these technologies hold immense potential,
02:40they have also widened the gap
02:43in science, technology, innovation and STI development
02:46between developed and developing countries.
02:49Disparities in access to cutting-edge technologies,
02:53expertise and resources have become more pronounced,
02:57posing a significant challenge for equitable progress.
03:02However, through strategic partnership,
03:05we can work solidistically to bridge this gap
03:08by combining our resources
03:11and complementing each other's strengths,
03:14we can ensure that the benefits of technological advancements
03:18are shared more equitably.
03:20I strongly believe that this summit,
03:23which launches a series of collaborative projects,
03:26will serve as an excellent starting point
03:29to create a synergy that brings mutual benefits
03:33to all parties involved,
03:35ensuring that no one is left behind in the technology revolution.
03:39Representing our collective commitment
03:42to nurturing the young minds that will shape our future.
