00:05According to the Cleveland Clinic, it's a word often used to explain the unique way

00:09in which people's brains work.

00:11Whilst no two brains are the same, it's thought that most people in the UK have a thing called

00:15a neurotypical brain, wherein a brain functions in a similar way to those of their peers.

00:21Now, research has revealed that more than 15% of people in the UK have what's referred

00:26to as a neurodiverse brain.

00:28The umbrella term of neurodiversity tends to include conditions such as autism, ADHD

00:33and dyslexia, among a range of others.

00:36Some even consider rare giftedness to come with a neurodiverse brain.

00:39Now, it's important to consider that new research has shown major endemic discrimination against

00:44neurodiverse people in the workplace.

00:47With around 1 in 7 people in the UK thought to have a neurodiverse brain, some charities

00:51are now calling on employers to recognise neurodiverse conditions and give more support

00:56to employees.
