02:32Russia planned to assassinate the chief executive of German arms maker Rheinmetall, and the
02:37US and Germany had foiled their plot.
02:40That's according to reports from CNN and New York Times on Thursday.
02:44They say the plot to kill CEO Armin Papago was one of a series of Russian government
02:48plans to assassinate industry executives across Europe who were supporting Ukraine's war
02:53effort.
02:56Rheinmetall had been producing artillery shells and vehicles for Ukraine.
03:00The reports say US intelligence first discovered the plot earlier this year.
03:04They told German security services who were able to protect Papago.
03:17To Finland now, where the parliament is set to vote on a bill granting border guards the
03:22power to turn back asylum seekers coming from Russia.
03:25It is expected to pass as both the ruling right wing coalition and many opposition lawmakers
03:30are backing it.
03:32The government has said that the bill is vital to stop future arrivals, despite the law being
03:36at odds with Finland's international human rights commitments.
03:48A US coast guard ship on routine patrol in the Bering Sea came across several Chinese
03:53military ships in the international waters, but within the US exclusive economic zone.
03:58The coast guard said in a statement that the crew detected three vessels approximately
04:03200 kilometers north of Amchitka Pass in the Aleutian Islands.

05:25Ground controllers informed the pilot and rescue teams after which fire extinguishers
05:30were rushed to put out the flames.
05:33No casualties were reported and all passengers and crew were evacuated safely.
