00:00Russia seems to be returning to familiar tactics in its efforts to influence the results of
00:04the next presidential elections in the United States, looking for ways to support the candidacy
00:09of former President Donald Trump while discrediting President Joe Biden's campaign, according
00:13to US intelligence officials.
00:15A new assessment of the threats for the November elections does not mention any candidate
00:20by name.
00:21However, a spokesman told journalists that the point of view of the Kremlin on the American
00:27politics has not changed since the previous electoral cycles.
00:30This spokesman added that this preference has been strengthened by the role of the United
00:34States in Ukraine and the general policy towards Russia, reports the Voice of America.
00:40This warning comes nearly four years after another similar warning made on the eve
00:45of the 2020 presidential elections, during which Trump faced Biden.
00:49Moscow is using a series of measures to discredit Biden and what it considers as
00:53an anti-Russian political class, said at the time the former director of the American
00:58National Security and Counterintelligence Center, William Evanina.
01:02Some Kremlin-related actors are also looking to support President Trump's candidacy
01:07on social media and on Russian television, according to him.
01:10US intelligence officials said they were communicating with presidential campaign teams
01:16and candidates, but they did not disclose the type of information shared with them.
