00:00Our belief is that the only long-term solution to growth, productivity and better public

00:06services is the full embrace of this technology revolution, which prior to generative AI was

00:11already a revolution, and now I think you've got with generative AI a revolution on top

00:16of the revolution existing.

00:17If you take the areas where Britain is potentially strong, like life sciences, clean technology,

00:23artificial intelligence itself, after America and China, and this is the good news for the

00:28country, Britain's probably in third place for AI globally.

00:33We have in DeepMind, and the head of it's coming to our conference this morning, possibly

00:38one of the best, but even the best AI company in the world.

00:42So we've got enormous strengths, but we have to build those strengths, and that's a modern

00:46industrial policy.
