With 60 kilometres to go, the riders turn left and are thus exposed to thundershowers and crosswinds of around 20km/h from the southwest. The pace has already increased as the peloton are wary of potential echelons. This is where the race exploded in 2013 en route to Saint-Amand-Montrond!
