00:00Amid questions over President Biden's mental fitness to run the country for another four years,
00:05the House GOP demands Biden's doctor testify over whether he can provide accurate and
00:10independent assessments. In a letter, House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer told
00:14White House physician Kevin O'Connor the committee, quote, is investigating circumstances
00:19surrounding your assessment in February of this year that President Biden is a healthy, active,
00:25robust 81-year-old male who remains fit to successfully execute the duties of the presidency.
00:31The Republican from Kentucky implied supposed business dealings between O'Connor and the
00:35Biden family are at fault for the rosy assessment of the president. Comer has also been a key figure
00:40in the GOP's fruitless impeachment inquiry into Biden. What started as media reports of Biden's
00:46failing memory behind closed doors turned into calls for, at the very least, a cognitive exam.
00:52After a less-than-stellar presidential debate against former President Trump,
00:56which Biden told ABC News came down to exhaustion and just a bad night. As a retired Army colonel,
01:02O'Connor has served as Biden's physician since 2009. In a February assessment of the president,
01:07O'Connor wrote Biden received an extremely detailed neurological exam that was reassuring,
01:13with no findings consistent with a disorder such as Parkinson's disease. So far, no response to
01:18the letter from the White House, but in the past O'Connor has declined interviews from the media.
