00:00Thursday, June 27, 2024, following another week of forced starvation outside the UNHCR
00:13office, unanswered communications, complaints to the inspector general, and yet another
00:22series of failed attempts over the course of the past few days through the receptionists
00:29for urgent provision of nourishment, as well as another series of communication attempts
00:39through their staff, passing by staff, two days ago on Tuesday, June 25.
00:48Only one meal arrived two days ago evening, and it stopped yesterday.
01:00Again, I had no food, and I don't know what is the expectation here.
01:05My communications have conveyed my request very clearly in clear terms.
01:13Do they expect me to expand extensive energy every day only to re-trade the same thing
01:23for food as another sort of, I don't know, harassment, torment?
01:32In light of this inappropriate behavior, inconsiderate and torturous behavior, I have also prepared
01:50a note today, as you see, I will read this briefly, to an attempt to deliver in person
01:59through their staff, passing by staff. If possible, I will report. I don't know if they will take it or not.
02:05I will also try including this in my follow-up communication with the inspector general.
02:15I don't know when that will be, today or another day, I don't know.
02:19Regardless, I'm going to read this note briefly so you would know what I have written here
02:27and from its context, you will understand the urgency of my situation and my request this year.
02:35So, reiterated request for urgent delivery, urgent daily meal deliveries and monetary assistance.
02:44Dear High Commissioners, Representative Ingris, Maria Flora, Martin.
02:49Considering my current circumstances, I am requesting daily delivery of three meals.
02:55Breakfast, lunch and dinner, including weekends, to the entrants of the UNHCR office.
03:02This request is vital until my captivity situation in Greece is satisfactorily resolved.
03:09Despite multiple emails, repeated communication has yielded no results.
03:15Additionally, I wish to raise a formal complaint about the reception's uncooperative and
03:23obstructive behavior in relaying my messages and the staff's tendency to evade communication.
03:30I lack the energy to pursue your staff daily to reiterate my needs.
03:37Kindly display this note prominently and ensure the provision of quality food from UNHCR-approved vendors
03:46and timely monetary donations. Your prompt attention to this matter is appreciated.
03:53Yours, respectfully, Anwar Neel Fari.
03:56And also, I stamped today's date, Thursday, June 27, 2024.
04:04I will try to pass this on. We will see if they will take it and reiterate my request also in person for food.
04:19It's Friday, June 28, 2024.
04:25Yesterday, amid uploading videos, my phone was heating up.
04:36And as a result, it wouldn't let me use my camera in order to attempt to submit my letter to the UNHCR employees and record it.
05:00But today, I don't have any uploads and will be definitely trying.
05:05Nevertheless, I just wanted to let you know I just woke up and see what I found again.
05:13This time, at this corner, another piece of bread and one bottle of water.
05:21I believe this is enough for me.
05:27Harassers keep the harassment.
05:34I will keep the letter, but the harassment, I will have to throw it as if this is, let's say, sufficient enough for a person to survive.
05:45One piece of bread.
05:51Excuse me.
05:56UNHCR. Hey!
05:59I would like to pass this on to the UNHCR and request a verified duplicate with the protocol number.
06:11Verified duplicate with protocol number.
06:17This is for my note.
06:27He brought me back my letter with my protocol number.
06:37Hey!
06:40It does receive, but it doesn't have a protocol number.
06:51It says receive, but no protocol number.
06:54Protocol number, let's see.
06:56Where is the protocol number?
06:59Excuse me, you don't have a protocol number on this paper?
07:04Yes, the protocol number is the date.
07:07No, I need a protocol number.
07:09They don't have a protocol number.
07:11The stamp also isn't good.
07:13The stamp also isn't good. I need one with protocol number.
07:16This is the original stamp, because they receive.
07:18You don't see anything from the stamp.
07:20Yes, but they receive.
07:22You don't see anything from the stamp.
07:24Please give me another copy with a nice stamp and protocol number.
07:29It's not my knowledge to know.
07:31Tell them.
07:34Another copy with nice stamp and protocol number.
07:37Hey!
07:47The agent is over here, taking food, asking him if he can deliver me a copy of my letter.
08:05Hey!
08:08You are from UNHCR. I gave you this letter.
08:11There is no protocol number on it.
08:14I need a copy of my letter with a protocol number.
08:20Do you understand?
08:21I need a copy of my letter with protocol number.
08:25I need a copy of my letter with protocol number.
08:29Do you understand?
08:38He took his phone and his food, pretending he doesn't know English, only responding in Greek.
08:48So, it's Thursday, July 4th, 2024.
08:57The temperature has dropped today to 20, 23.
09:04And the weather forecast is predicting rain for today and tomorrow.
09:14In fact, it's actually raining just right now, but not too much.
09:19You see the ground is wet a little.
09:26So, the weather situation aside, I finally managed to send my email to the Inspector General two days ago, Tuesday, July 2nd.
09:41And here is the content that I would like to read quickly, so you would also understand what I have written to the Inspector General.
09:53Inspector General, this is one of the many, many follow-ups that I have sent to this date.
10:03I have not received an acknowledgement for any of my communication.
10:07And here is the content of my email.
10:11Esteemed Inspector General of the UNHCR,
10:14Despite my repeated appeals, my flight outside the UNHCR office in Athens continues to be met with neglect,
10:22escalating my acute starvation and malnutrition, the increasingly hostile environment,
10:28and the escalating risks in my life and well-being necessitate immediate action.
10:35I have conveyed my need for daily sustenance and monetary aid until my captivity situation in Greece is satisfactorily resolved.
10:44Yet, the response from your office, including forced displacement and harassment,
10:50have failed to address my urgent needs further, endangering my health and safety.
10:57The alleged visit by the Reception and Solidarity Center of Athens, Chiada,
11:03which offered only a hat while ignoring my pleas for food and water, underscores the inadequacy of support provided.
11:12Pertinent documents, including my recent handwritten note and UNHCR's subsequent response,
11:18are available in the previously shared Google Drive folder for your ease of reference.
11:24Despite the assertion in UNHCR's May 29 reply about proximity to the Holy Church of All Saints,
11:33my immobility since April 23, 2024, renders it impossible to regularly visit the site.
11:43I have suggested that any assistance be delivered directly or through recurring donations to my fundraising initiative
11:51to mitigate the logistical challenges I face.
11:55The practicality of such deliveries should align with the Church's proximity and available resources.
12:03Your immediate attention and decisive intervention are imperative.
12:08I anticipate your acknowledgment and a concrete plan of action to rectify this inhumane situation.
12:16My survival is at stake. Yours respectfully.
12:47Nevertheless, I will surely link to the Google Drive folder which I have just mentioned in this email to the Inspector General.
12:57It will be public, obviously, and you will be able to also check it out and see all the previous complaints,
13:12follow-ups, and including UNHCR's replies, if you are interested, and that also will be for the sake of transparency.
13:29And at the end, before I finish with this video, I would also ask you once more to kindly go sign this petition at saints.org.au
13:47Please also consider making a donation at gogetfunding.com.au
13:53Please share both of the campaigns wherever you can. Any other help would be greatly appreciated.
13:59My starvation here is a serious issue, a critical issue, and any other help, if you can, besides those,
14:11signing my petition, making a donation, you could also deliver food, decent food.
14:18I definitely need money. I don't have a shampoo right now. If I wanted to have another quick shower over there, opposite the street,
14:31as you saw in my previous videos, or wash my clothes, they are really itchy and there is dust here all the time.
14:41Ants, spiders, I am forced to deal with outside this UN agency.
14:47Please share this video, share the campaigns, subscribe to this channel, post a comment, like.
14:56Any other help would be greatly appreciated.
15:00You may write to the UNHCR, encourage them to end my captivity in this country.
15:08If you are a Greek citizen, contact your representatives in the parliament, the Greek official authorities,
15:16to come to the UN and resolve this captivity situation.
15:22And if you know also anyone in the press, in the media, you may bring this to their attention.
15:30If you are part of any activist groups who could organize a demonstration, anything you could do is welcome and do not hesitate.
15:43Thank you. Take care. Bye.
