Derry City winger Daniel Kelly gives his verdict on Friday's 5-1 victory over Drogheda United in which he grabbed his first goal for the Candy Stripes.

00:06Yeah listen, great night obviously, I talked to Oman, we were outstanding, I think the

00:11first 5-10 minutes we were all at it and obviously got the goal and it sort of set us on our

00:17way but most important was obviously the 3 points but the break they took up here, it's

00:23really really pleasing.

00:24I mean I know the final score looks very emphatic but when they got it back to 1 each, I mean

00:29they were asking questions and how satisfying is it the answers that you've found to those?

00:33Yeah listen, we knew when I went 1-1 there was a quite sloppy goal to concede on our

00:38own behalf but we were dominating the game, they obviously had a couple of moments but

00:43we knew as a team to just keep doing what we're doing and we'll get chances and thankfully

00:46we obviously got the penalty straight away and the patches took it away nicely.

00:50And for you yourself, a first goal, I know it's been a while coming but you've been getting

00:54better week on week, that must be satisfying for you?

00:56Yeah very satisfying, obviously had a tough start, I knew it was going to be tough when

01:00I first moved up here but I felt the last few weeks I've had a big impact on games and

01:06coming off the bench and training well so listen it's obviously great the break they

01:09took, I'm obviously a winger but I rely on my numbers so I think 5 assists and 1 goal

01:15now so I just need to keep kicking on and bringing it each game and week on week.

01:19I mean you took your chance tonight because it is a big squad, there's a lot of competition,

01:24obviously Miggy Duffy missed out tonight but it chooses the competition for places there

01:29but it must be very satisfying when you've actually got the goal and now you've put your

01:33hand up for a start?

01:35Yeah listen it's obviously, I knew what I was coming into, coming up to Derby it's an

01:39unbelievable squad, to be fair to the Gappers, since he's come in the lads he's brought in

01:43have been top top players and listen I'm happy to start finally the last few weeks, it's

01:49obviously been a little bit tough but I'm a team player and I knew coming on to games

01:53that I can still have impacts and tonight obviously starting the game and getting the

01:57goal and assists it's really pleasing.

01:59And the biggest home win of the season.

02:01Yeah listen obviously we've scored 5 at home, we've taken it week on week to be fair so

02:06it's yielded 3 points but we now focus and recover the next couple of days and focus

02:10on Slojko next week.

02:11You've got Selburn winning tonight, Rovers beating, do you just pay attention to the

02:16other results at this moment in time or is it still very much?

02:20We don't really to be honest, obviously you check the scores but it doesn't have a huge

02:24impact on what we do or what's said or anything, we just focus on ourselves and we know if

02:27we do our business right we'll come to the end of the season and hopefully we'll be there

02:30at Derby.

02:31I mean but next up you've got Slago who have obviously gone and shot Samard Rovers, that

02:36sort of shows you're not getting an easy game in this 12 game running.

02:39No absolutely not, I think Slojko obviously the last few games against Derby, especially

02:43up there have been really tough opponents so by no means will it be an easy game and

02:48it never is up in the showground so we'll need to keep our momentum going and hopefully

02:52get another 3 points.
