01:42Jenny Rivera was a Latina girl from Long Beach who got pregnant at 15, and a few more times

01:48after that.

01:51A single mother chasing a dream to give a better life to her children, but what she

01:57didn't know was that her dream would lead her to become a multi-award winning recording

02:02artist and songwriter, captivating the world with her voice, lyrics, and story.

02:08But God knew.

02:12What she did know, without a doubt, was that she went through all the hardship and made

02:17it to the other side victorious.

02:20And it was for a reason.

02:23She lived with certainty in her heart that she was given this platform to show the world

02:28that if she can do it, so can you.

02:32Which is why she lived her life so openly, and because of her vulnerability, she inspired

02:38women and men all over the world.

02:41She was able to impact many with her life and with her music.

02:47If I can be honest, this is a very bittersweet moment.

02:53Because I wish she could be here, and we could once again witness the beautiful smile on

02:58her face, and we'd be able to hear the witty speech she would have delivered.

03:03But nonetheless, I know she would be so full of joy and pride to be recognized on such

03:09a prestigious landmark, where only the great get awarded.

03:15And for me, as a daughter, to think that not only in this moment, but for many, many, many

03:21years to come, the future generations will see and wonder, who was Jenny Rivera?

03:27And the new generations will discover her and fall in love and be inspired by her.

03:34It fills me with pride to know that.

03:39Mama, we are proud of you, proud to be your children, and will forever be grateful for

03:49everything that you did for us, for not giving up when life got hard.

03:54Your strength and resilience to come out on top hasn't only inspired us, but millions.

04:40plan, and for giving her the strength to carry it out.

04:48I would like to take a moment to thank all the people who are part of our mom's story,

04:52and I want to recognize the fact that I know she would be here, she would do it so much

04:56better because she loved to make people feel seen, and appreciated, and loved.
