Transcript
00:00I want you to be savage.
00:04So let's go.
00:06Let's go!
00:08Sing Sing is really just about brotherhood.
00:11More than anything.
00:16They said, we think we have a great co-star for you.
00:18Clarence Macklin.
00:19And I was like, I'd love to meet him.
00:21And immediately we connected so well.
00:23It was really beautiful and funny and organic.
00:25He felt like one of my brothers.
00:26Working with Coleman Domingo was an absolute pleasure, man.
00:30And a delight.
00:31The brother's a ball of positive energy.
00:34He saw in me things that I didn't see in myself.
00:37You did your thing, beloved.
00:42Everyone on the movie collectively owns the movie.
00:44So all of our cast, who are formerly incarcerated,
00:47have literal ownership of their own story.
00:50There was no hierarchy.
00:51And everyone felt empowered to contribute and to share.
00:55Raise your hand, Mike.
00:58We're here to become human again.
01:01And enjoy the things that is not in our reality.
01:04I feel the fingerprints of every single person who worked on it.
01:07It was just a small group of people who wanted to make something more beautiful.
01:10If you pour hope into somebody, you have a better chance of reaching it.
01:14Give him some love. Give him some love.
01:16It's just such a human story.
01:17We need art to thrive.
01:19You take away the art, you take away the soul.
01:21You take away the humanity.
01:23What I do know is you're an artist.
01:26This is just bringing out parts of yourself that has been hidden.
01:30Just go for it. Trust it.
01:32Alright? Leave all the other shit behind.
