00:00Hi, InStyle, I'm Iman, and you're watching Pearls of Wisdom.
00:09One universal beauty tip that anyone can use, regardless what your skin color is, I would
00:15say it's a bronzer.
00:17A bronzer will make anybody look like they just stepped off a plane from Capri, sun-kissed
00:24goddess.
00:25I'll give you an example.
00:26Jennie from The Block became star J-Lo with a bronzer.
00:32One thing that every woman should do once in her lifetime is to go away on holiday on
00:37her own.
00:38I think the reason I recommend that is that because as we get older, we become more comfortable
00:45with our own company.
00:47Young girls need to learn that.
00:49I think one thing that one should never apologize for is standing up for herself.
00:54It starts with the self-worth, especially for girls, and the reason behind that is that
01:00you will be able to walk away from bad jobs, bad relationships, anything that doesn't serve
01:06you well.
01:07So once you know that you're able to stand up for yourself, you are not going to take
01:11anything less than that.
01:12I think one thing that every woman should invest in is the perfect tailor.
01:18If you have the perfect tailor, even something that is just you paid $50 will look like it
01:24was $500.
01:26It all comes down to the tailor.
01:28I have several tailors that I cannot live without.
01:32I believe more in tailors than any designer because I really believe that the perfect
01:39tailor can make everything look great on you.
01:42How do you know when you've found your perfect person?
01:45Is that not to ignore the small, loving gestures.
01:50For example, my husband, the first time, the first week we met, we were walking down the
01:56street and my shoelaces came undone, and he got to his knees and tied my shoelace.
02:02That is my perfect person.
02:04But let's not ignore also the big gestures, like the perfect croc, Birkin bag.
02:12I got both.
02:16I've always been asked several times when people say, oh, your late husband, and I always
02:21correct them.
02:22He is my husband, not my late husband.
02:24He's ever-present with me is because he has left an impact in my life.
02:29He was the perfect person for me, and I'm happy that I was able to experience that in
02:35my lifetime, and I wish for everybody to have that one time in their life.
02:40My perfect response to insult?
02:42I want to say insult back at you, but no, I say just walk away from it.
02:50I find power in walking away about almost everything, right?
02:55I find it to have like a superpower when you really actually keep your calm when somebody
03:00insults you.
03:02That's a superpower.
03:03I really advise you to really take advantage of that.
03:06Do not have people belittle you, insult you, and then you lower yourself to their level.
03:12Walk away, never see them again like they don't exist.
03:18You should spend your first paycheck on luxury, luxury luggage specifically.
03:24Not every designer luggage, but luxury luggage because that will last you a lifetime.
03:29My first paycheck, I think it was in 1977, and I spent it all in, I don't know, 10 pieces
03:35of Louis Vuitton luggage that I still have them till today.
03:40Well, thank you.
03:41I hope that helped you with my pearls of wisdom, but there's always something that you can
03:45take away from it, just a pearl.
03:48Pick a pearl.
