Sen. Hontiveros - It seems that Alice Guo is only the tip of an iceberg

The Senate continued its hearing today on the raided Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hubs in Bamban, Tarlac, and Porac, Pampanga. In the first part of the hearing, Sen. Risa Hontiveros said that Alice Guo and the controversies surrounding her may only be a part of a “deep and deadly web of bad actors.”

“A few days ago, Mayor Alice Guo and some other individuals were charged under the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act. Ako po ay masaya na siya po ay nakasuhan,” Hontiveros said.

“But it seems that Alice Guo is only the tip of an iceberg. Kung tama ang ibinahagi sa aming intelligence information noong executive session a few weeks ago at kanina lamang din, this committee hearing is in the process of uncovering a deep and deadly web of bad actors involving international criminal syndicates, local and national politicians, and perhaps malevolent elements of a foreign state,” she added.
