00:00Following the discovery of the first case of Q fever in the Philippines,

00:04the government assured that it will not spread.

00:07The contact tracing will continue so that it will not happen again.

00:15The Department of Agriculture or DA assured that the Q fever or query fever

00:21is not spreading to humans and other animals,

00:23particularly to beef, which is more commonly consumed.

00:27According to DA Assistant Secretary Arnel De Mesa,

00:30the imported goats from the United States are already depopulated

00:33and are now under the supervision of the Bureau of Animal Industry or BAI

00:36on June 19 and 20,

00:40which brings the so-called disease.

00:42This is a new disease and it really needs to be taken care of.

00:47This is a mild zoonotic disease.

00:49So now it is controlled by our Bureau of Animal Industry

00:55and there is also an immediate coordination with the Department of Health

01:03to make sure that our countrymen are not affected,

01:08especially the farm workers.

01:10Aside from that, contact tracing is also being done

01:14so that the entry and spread of Q fever will not happen again,

01:19especially to humans.

01:20The DA's call is to still be careful with meat and to cook it well.

01:25Even though Q fever is transmitted by poll gas and bodily fluids

01:29from animals to humans.

01:31Now, if there is a worry in the regular meat,

01:36of course, it needs to be cooked.

01:38For now, as much as possible, avoid raw meat

01:41because it does not go through the heating process.

01:54If there are symptoms of possible Q fever,

01:58do not worry because it will be treated with antibiotics.

02:28to reduce the tariff on rice and other products.

02:33Under EO 62, the tariff on rice will be reduced by 15% from the previous 35%.

02:41It is expected that the price of imported rice will also be reduced due to tariff reduction.

02:54The Ministry of Agriculture promised that the quality of rice will be sold by the National Food Authority
