Surfing north of the Arctic Circle used to be a dare... now the world's northernmost surf school on Norway's Unstad beach is swamped with tourists. Climate change has made summers longer in northern Norway - and water-sports enthusiasts are diving in. CGTN’s Johannes Pleschberger dons his wetsuit to join them.

00:00Welcome to the world's northernmost surf school in Lofoten, Norway.
00:05Let's put on this hoodie.
00:12I feel like I'm ready for a moon expedition.
00:16The wetsuit really covers my whole body, even my feet and my hands.
00:22I don't really feel the Arctic. Oh yeah, I feel it a little bit.
00:27Up!
00:30We didn't expect it to be so gorgeous. It's beaten all of our expectations.
00:36The Arctic has been hit hardest by climate change.
00:39Temperatures are rising three times faster than the global average.
00:44Okay, I just managed to surf a few whitewash waves, but I'm just a beginner anyways.
00:49I can totally recommend to anyone trying out surfing in Arctic water.
