00:34You've been very open and honest about it, about your journey as a queer couple.
00:38I mean, what do you think the biggest misconception
00:41about that is, going through this IVF journey together as a queer couple?
00:46I think a lot of people automatically go to
00:51saying that we're just adoptive parents and the baby needs their biological
00:57parents, and that we're not, I'm not actually a mother,
01:00and Jesse's not actually a father if we're not biologically related to the child.
01:04I think that's the comment that we get the most.
01:06That's really just, people just are so ignorant and don't realize,
01:10like, queer couples exist, and they have existed.
01:12And adoptive families exist.
01:14My dad was adopted, and he very much considers his adoptive parents as parents.
01:18So I think people just love to nitpick and find anything to be rude about.
01:24The worst comment I've gotten was like,
01:26people were basically saying that if I use Jesse's eggs, then I'm just a surrogate.
01:29I'm not even the mother.
01:31And like, why would I give birth to a baby that's not even mine?
01:34And I'm like, what are you?
01:35People just don't understand that this is so normal.
01:38And just because we're public about it,
01:39doesn't mean that there's not like millions of other couples
01:42that are just like us doing that same thing.
01:44And even couples that are infertile.
01:46There's many men that can't produce sperm,
01:48and there's women that naturally can't produce eggs.
01:51They're straight heterosexual relationships that also have to use a donor.
01:54And it's still very much their baby.
01:56And those people wouldn't be getting comments that we're getting.
01:58It's just because we're queer,
02:00and people love to like give unwarranted opinions on the relationship.
