00:00In a newly published interview between Lana Del Rey and Billie Eilish, the Lunge singer
00:04got vulnerable talking about growing up in the spotlight.
00:08It's no secret that growing up as a star has its challenges, and Billie Eilish has
00:12had her fair share.
00:14Eilish dropped her newest album, Hit Me Hard & Soft, back on May 17, topping the album
00:19chart in 16 countries and debuting at number two on the Billboard 200.
00:24So it's quite easy to forget that Eilish is only 22 years old and was thrust into the
00:29spotlight with her first hit, Ocean Eyes, at just 13 years old.
00:34One of the most popular songs off of Hit Me Hard & Soft is Lunge, a fun, catchy anthem
00:39about Eilish discovering her sexuality.
00:42In an interview with Rolling Stone back in April, Eilish spoke candidly about how writing
00:46the song helped her in her journey, sharing,
00:48"'That song was actually part of what helped me become who I am, to be real.
00:52I wrote some of it before even doing anything with a girl and then wrote the rest after."
00:57And Eilish just opened up a bit more about actually releasing Lunge and coming out, in
01:02an interview with Lana Del Rey for Paper Magazine, sharing,
01:05"'It's so weird to grow up and change in front of the world.
01:09The craziest part is discovering things about myself and then suddenly everyone else knows.
01:13And I don't even have a second to think about how it makes me feel.'"
