00:00When I got on the scale, that was literally a slap in the face because the scale said
00:08354.2 pounds. I was in denial about my weight.
00:14I was miserable. I was hurting.
00:16I was headed toward the grave and I just had that moment where I was like
00:24It's enough.
00:27I have lost over 193 pounds.
00:31So I've known
00:32Eleanor for about seven to eight years now. She's seen me struggle with the weight.
00:38I'm really excited to show her this new body of mine.
00:50Growing up, I
00:53always ate my emotions. I grew up in poverty, so
00:58all we knew was unhealthy food.
01:00So I actually had my gallbladder removed whenever I was 18 years old from my diet, from eating fatty, greasy
01:08foods. I was in denial about my weight.
01:12When I started my journey, I was 32 and I felt like I was 60.
01:18I was headed toward the grave. Just performing my job was very hard as a nurse,
01:24having to lift up
01:26patients and it was very hard on my back. I went
01:30to do my recertification for my CPR. I couldn't even
01:35get on my knees to demonstrate
01:38how to do CPR. When I got on the scale, that was a slap in the face because the scale said
01:46354.2 pounds. It said enough was enough. I have to do something. I cannot live my life
01:53like this anymore. It just felt impossible
01:57to lose over, you know, 200 pounds close to it or more than that.
02:02And
02:12then I showed up at my gym. After I let my body adjust and
02:17it figured out what it was doing, that first month
02:21I had actually lost 15 pounds and then the second month I lost like 23 pounds and
02:27so every month I just kept going. I kept working hard.
02:31I kept making sure I was eating healthy. I kept doing my workouts and the weight just kept falling off. In the past
02:3818 months I have lost over a hundred and ninety three pounds.
02:46So I work out
02:48five to six times a week. I try to aim for at least five
02:52but usually do six days a week. I got to a hundred and forty-one pounds in 14 months and I hated it.
02:59I hated the way I looked and so when I got back in the 160s like this is where I feel happy.
03:06This is where I feel confident. I still want to work on losing more fat.
03:11That's my focus now is on fat loss instead of
03:16weight loss in itself. I want to look my best and I want to feel my best.
03:29Food does not run me. I run food now. I don't eat processed foods anymore.
03:35I don't eat fatty foods. I don't eat a lot of carbs.
03:39So now I eat a lot of lean protein. I do high protein,
03:45lower carbs.
03:47So I've known
03:49Eleanor for about
03:51seven to eight years now. We loved going out to eat. When you live in Houston, you have amazing restaurants.
03:58She's seen me struggle with the weight, with being uncomfortable. She was always concerned and it's probably been
04:05anywhere from about nine to twelve months that we've got to see each other. So I'm really excited to be able to celebrate and
04:14hang out with Eleanor again and show her this new body of mine.
04:28My push to her was, I really don't care what you look like. I'm just more concerned about how your health is doing.
04:35I would say she has a glow to her that I have not seen in a very long time.
04:39Like I said, when I opened the door, I was like, wow.
04:43I'm just totally taken back. It's amazing. It makes me feel
04:48amazing that I can get dressed up and really look good. It came down to like really just changing my life,
04:56changing my habits, changing my lifestyle. I did it for me because I deserve this.
05:03I deserve to be healthy. I deserve to live a life and not die
05:09at a young age and
05:12I'm just ready to celebrate.
05:26You
