00:00 The Department of Justice denied the release of former Negros Oriental representative Arnulfo Tevez Jr.

00:07 Next, the lead counsel of Tevez, Attorney Ferdinand Topacio, declared that the former judge is now free.

00:14 According to Topacio, the extradition request was not passed in the right time and manner by the Philippines.

00:21 That's why Tevez was declared illegal.

00:24 The Department of Justice explained that the release and arrest of Tevez was part of Timor-Leste's process.

00:32 They agreed to comply with the law and all the requirements.

00:38 They are confident that Timor-Leste will grant the extradition request of the Philippine government.

00:44 For now, Tevez is under the custody of the National Police of Timor-Leste.
