As they were on their way, he reached back with his hand for her to hold. She had a mischievous idea and whispered to her sister to take his hand instead, as a playful joke. 

Her sister complied, and the two of them struggled to stifle their giggles as her boyfriend unknowingly held the wrong hand.
Their silent laughter soon became uncontrollable, and the car was filled with their suppressed snickers.
