00:00Are you in favor of divorce or not?
00:03Now, I'm excited to talk about the ongoing divorce case in the Philippines.
00:07The latest survey was released by the social weather station Skoug9,
00:10which is watched by Filipinos.
00:12And that's what Jonathan Randall is talking about.
00:14We asked questions using the questions of SWS in their survey.
00:22Are you in favor or not that divorced couples and those who can't get back together
00:27should be forced to get divorced so that they can legally get married again?
00:32If you really can't do it anymore, you're getting pregnant,
00:34then your husband is an addict or whatever, then it's really a divorce.
00:36It's hard to get a divorce here.
00:37Later, if someone fights, the divorce papers will be filed.
00:42Many families will be destroyed.
00:44It's worse if you're together and you're not sick anymore.
00:49Or some people explain.
00:51If you're always stressed, you'll die.
00:55In the latest face-to-face survey conducted by SWS on March 24-25,
01:001,500 respondents were asked if they're in favor or not of divorce in the Philippines.
01:05The result is that for every 10 Filipinos, half or five are in favor of divorce.
01:11Three are not, while two are undecided.
01:14Based on the net agreement score,
01:16the support for divorce by those who have a live-in partner is very strong.
01:21It's moderately strong compared to other marital status.
01:24Based on religion,
01:26the support for divorce by Christians, Catholics, and Muslims is moderately strong.
01:31It's moderately weak compared to the survey conducted by members of Iglesia Ni Cristo,
01:36which is negative 10.
01:37Geographically, or based on the place of respondents,
01:40it's very strong compared to Metro Manila, which is positive 40.
01:43It's moderately strong compared to Balans, Luzon, and Visayas,
01:46while neutral compared to Mindanao.
01:48Most of the respondents are married.
01:51This is the 12th time that the SWS surveyed this question about divorce.
01:56Compared to last year, the net agreement score for divorce is still low.
02:00It means that those who are in favor of divorce are less.
02:04It's positive 19 compared to positive 27 in June 2023,
02:09and the record high of positive 44 in March 2023.
