00:00 Do you want to be skinny or do you want to be strong?
00:04 Experts say shifting your goal from this to this, right, could actually be better for
00:10 your health.
00:11 The strong.
00:12 I like the look too.
00:13 And one of the best ways to get there, high protein food.
00:16 So today we have an essential guide to get more protein into your diet.
00:20 And we wanted to bring in someone who knows a thing or two about high protein meals.
00:24 Someone who was featured by People Magazine in the Sexiest Man Alive issue.
00:30 You know him from The Young and the Restless, Criminal Minds, and now he's on the hit show
00:33 SWAT, Shemar Moore.
00:35 Okay, for those of you who have followed my career on my social media, I gotta say what's
00:41 up to my homies, to my fans, and my baby girl.
00:48 I made a promise to myself, and it's getting harder because I'm 48 years old.
00:52 My character on SWAT is 35 years old.
00:55 So we gotta paint the grays, we gotta do some extra pushups.
00:58 So as much as I want to work out to be sexy for y'all, I actually work out because it's
01:04 necessary to do what I do on this show.
01:07 So I want to be 60 years old with a six pack.
01:09 Like I promised myself to get to 60.
01:12 It's one thing to look great when you're 30, but to be 48 and look as great as you do means
01:17 you're doing something, right?
01:18 In fact, I love the fact that you embrace the different things you're doing in life.
01:21 I understand you actually train with the men and women, real SWAT team members.
01:27 When you watch SWAT, first and foremost, it's a good time.
01:30 It is an action-packed thrill ride.
01:32 But what's very important to myself and the rest of the actors and the producers is what
01:37 we're giving you the entertainment version of is real life.
01:41 When you meet these men and women, men and women, I mean some badass women, these women
01:45 are no joke.
01:47 That's why we're having so much fun and feel so honored to portray and deliver this show.
01:52 Help me with something, if you don't mind.
01:53 You've spoken about strength a bunch of times.
01:55 I can shout to the rafters until I'm blue in the face that skinny is not as good as
02:01 strong.
02:02 I think, and I can say that strong is better for a bunch of reasons.
02:07 You build muscle, reduces all these risks of heart disease and illnesses you don't want
02:12 to get in life.
02:13 If you were to agree that strong is sexy, you would listen.
02:20 Most definitely.
02:21 Most definitely.
02:22 Skinny, everybody wants to look good on their Instagram.
02:24 They want to look good in pictures.
02:28 But you can be skinny and be healthy.
02:31 You got small, medium, and large.
02:33 It's all sexy to me, I'm trying to tell you.
02:40 It's about being healthy.
02:41 Now, genetically, some of us are skinny.
02:44 Some of us are medium.
02:47 Some of us are thickalicious.
02:52 It all comes down to diet.
02:53 It comes down to diet, exercise, the amount of sugars you're putting in your body, the
02:58 amount of protein you're putting in your body, carbs.
03:01 You can look good on the outside and could be a complete mess on the inside.
03:05 But if you're taking care of yourself with your diet, if you're taking care of yourself
03:08 with exercise, then what God gave you will be small, medium, and large, but will be tight
03:15 and will be strong and will be healthy and you will live longer and you will feel better.
03:18 All they want to hear you say is strong and sexy.
03:21 Strong and sexy, baby.
03:24 Come on.
03:25 Come on.
03:26 Shamar's got his favorite high-protein foods.
03:27 You can take a look at what he came up with.
03:29 The first thing that he adores.
03:30 Edamame.
03:31 Yeah.
03:32 Isn't that nice?
03:33 Yeah.
03:34 This right here.
03:35 What do you love about this?
03:36 I love it.
03:37 When I'm trying to entertain the ladies, you know, you want to go for a little sushi, baby?
03:38 You want to go for a little sushi, baby?
03:39 Right?
03:40 So, and then when we get, but this, not only when I go have sushi, do I start the meal
03:47 with edamame.
03:48 This has so much protein.
03:49 It's so delicious.
03:50 18 grams, you cut.
03:51 18 grams.
03:52 And they're fun.
03:53 They're fun.
03:54 You just go, it's like you just can't put it down, but it's so good for you and it's
03:56 so healthy.
03:57 And it really does.
03:58 I mean, this, this just, it tastes good and it makes you feel better.
04:02 And again, diet and exercise.
04:04 But if you're exercising and eating this type of food, your body.
04:07 This is the best snack food out there.
04:09 All right.
04:10 So we got edamame.
04:11 Now, something else that, I don't know why America's falling out of love with this, but
04:14 Chamar said we got to wake up.
04:15 Well, I'm going to.
04:16 The cottage cheese.
04:17 I got to keep it real though.
04:19 It's my favorite because of the amount of protein that it has and how good for you it
04:23 is.
04:24 25 grams of protein, by the way.
04:25 25 grams.
04:26 But you put it, you put it in oatmeal, I understand.
04:27 Yes.
04:28 Yes.
04:29 Literally.
04:30 You mix it in there.
04:31 You mix it in there.
04:32 So then, you know, you get, you get a mix of the texture with the oatmeal and the cottage
04:33 cheese.
04:34 I'm going to stop for a second.
04:35 Don't do that.
04:36 Don't do that.
04:37 I got a little surprise for you.
04:38 What's happening?
04:39 Some people have a problem with cottage cheese.
04:40 So I've turned myself around.
04:41 Maybe you'll be like me.
04:42 This is whipped cottage cheese.
04:43 I've never heard of that.
04:44 I love when guests haven't seen things.
04:45 Give it a taste.
04:46 I want your honest opinion.
04:47 Do you taste it straight up for a second?
04:48 Straight up?
04:49 Yeah, before you put it in the oatmeal.
04:50 I like the idea of cottage cheese in oatmeal.
04:51 It's pretty clever.
04:52 But if you get along with this whipped version, which is a little easier, I think.
04:53 Yeah, a complete different texture.
04:54 You like it?
04:55 Yeah, way better.
04:56 I do.
04:57 I do.
04:58 America, if Shabar loves it, you'll love it.
04:59 Whipped cottage cheese.
05:00 Now add that to your oatmeal.
05:01 I think we've got something going.
05:02 This is amazing.
05:03 I've really never heard of this.
05:04 Because this is just clumpy and weird.
05:05 I don't know.
05:06 It's a thing.
05:07 But I like this.
05:08 I'm not lying.
05:09 All right.
05:10 So here's what you do.
05:11 What do I do?
05:12 Put it in here?
05:13 No, no.
05:14 Before you go to break, I want you to take this in the most sultry way you can.
05:15 I'm going to put it in the most sultry way I can.
05:16 I'm going to put it in the most sultry way I can.
05:17 I'm going to put it in the most sultry way I can.
05:18 I'm going to put it in the most sultry way I can.
05:42 This one's for my baby girls out there.
05:48 If I was able to have the pleasure of spending time with you, I would look in your eyes.
05:53 And before we got to kissing slowly and doing all that hanky-panky stuff, I would just look
05:57 you in the eyes and I would say, "Let me feed you, baby.
06:00 Let me just bring this spoon to your mouth."
06:01 And I'm going to put it in your mouth ever so slowly.
06:05 And as you go to swallow it, I'm going to follow it up with these luscious soft brown
06:08 sugar lips.
06:09 Perfect.
06:10 I don't know what I just said.
06:11 Thank you for watching.
06:12 Don't forget to subscribe and turn on notifications so you never miss out on new videos to live
06:20 the good life.
