A 32-year-old Sydney man faces court in murder charge

A Sydney man charged with the murder of his partner in the city's west has faced court. The 32-year-old is accused of killing a man in his 50's at an apartment complex in Auburn overnight.

00:00 32-year-old Rory Shade was brought here to Burwood Local Court to the cells this morning
00:07 but did not appear in the courtroom in person when his case was heard.
00:11 His lawyer chose not to apply for bail on his behalf and he has been reminded in custody

00:16 He has been charged with one count of murder of that man in his 50s which is believed to

00:24 Police were called to that Auburn unit shortly after 7.30 last night after reports of a domestic
00:30 violence related incident.
00:32 Officers attended South Parade near the Auburn train station where they spoke to Mr Shade
00:36 before arresting him and that's when they attended that unit on Richmond Avenue and
00:41 they found another man with serious head injuries.
00:44 Ambulance crews tried to revive him but sadly he could not be saved.
00:49 Mr Shade will remain in custody until his next court appearance in July.
