Providence Postal Workers Charged in $1 Million Mail Theft Ring Involving Stolen Gift Cards, Cash, and Checks

Seven postal workers in Providence have been charged with running a long-running mail theft ring at the Providence Postal Processing and Distribution Center. The thefts, which involved gift cards, cash, and checks, were not isolated incidents and involved multiple conspiracy members. The workers targeted greeting cards during Christmas and split the stolen items after work. The estimated amount stolen is over $1 million. The theft was discovered in March, and since then, the postal center has changed, and complaints have decreased.
