00:07Device Authorities or MDA Award for Excellence Service 2023 for its work in promoting public
00:13awareness about health gadgets and how they are regulated.
00:18The award given was part of MDA's continuous effort and commitment in appreciating the
00:23cooperation of media partners in raising awareness about the regulatory ecosystem of medical
00:28devices.
00:29SMG's Chief Content Officer Datin Paduka Esther Ng received the award for the newspaper
00:34category on behalf of the group from Health Minister Datuk Sri Dr Zulkifri Ahmad and said
00:40the SMG family was honoured to be recognised by MDA and the health ministry.
00:45She said the Star and its sister platforms would continue highlighting issues affecting
00:49the people and what they hold dear and hope to continue working with the ministry to bring
00:54forth matters concerning the nation's health.
00:57Earlier at the event, Zulkifri also launched MDA's four-year strategic plan 2024-2028,
01:03in which he challenged the authority to raise their level to be in the same league as other
01:08similar authorities at the international level.
01:11This strategic plan reflects MDA's commitment to be on the front lines for mutual control,
01:18security guarantees and the control of the industry, especially in our country.
01:25To ensure that our industry continues to excel in the world market, MDA as a world-leading
01:32body must also play a role as a leader, employer, facilitator and advisor as an advisory role.
01:44Not only to me and the ministry, but also to all players in the industry, local and international.

02:13The event also awarded Bernama Radio and Bernama TV under the radio category and television
02:19respectively, as well as 18 civil servants and MDA staff who received recognition for
