00:00 The bonus of this whole journey is that I spend every day around a person that being close to is like getting shown on by the sun.
00:12 Oh, I love that.
00:13 It's pretty nice. I want that for all of us. I want people to find the right room.
00:18 Sophia Bush gushing about her romance with Ashlyn Harris.
00:23 I do feel lucky.
00:24 The actress also slamming all those homewrecker allegations.
00:28 I am the most excited about the future that I have ever been and I don't feel like I owe anything to anyone.
00:36 Sophia is Glamour's April cover star and inside the mag she opens up about her relationship with a soccer star, which she says came unexpectedly after being in the same circle for so long.
00:46 I didn't expect to find love in this support system.
00:48 I don't know how else to say it other than I didn't see it until I saw it.
00:53 What I saw was a friend with her big happy life and now I know she thought the same thing about me.
00:58 Whether it's, you know, my life partner or the wonderful group of men in my life who make up my friends and allies who make up my support system.
01:09 If I have a real group of good ones.
01:12 Sophia and Ashlyn first sparked dating rumors in October following the end of both of their marriages.
01:17 In August, the One Tree Hill star filed for divorce from Grant Hughes.
01:21 When I looked at my ex and said, when was the last time you and I laughed alone together?
01:28 And we couldn't answer the question.
01:31 It was kind of like, what are we doing?
01:34 As for Ashlyn, she filed for divorce in September from fellow soccer star, Ali Krieger.
01:39 And right away, Sophia says she felt the judgment.
01:42 The online rumor mill began to spit in the ugliest ways.
01:46 There were blatant lies, violent threats.
01:48 There were the accusations of being a homewrecker.
01:51 The ones who said I'd left my ex because I suddenly realized I wanted to be with women.
01:55 My partners have known what I'm into for as long as I have.
01:59 So that's not it, y'all. Sorry.
02:01 It's funny because people who pay attention are like, yeah, we know.
02:04 All my fans who paid attention are like, yeah, I mean, we've watched her like date women on camera forever.
02:08 We knew that wasn't the first time she did that.
02:10 And I was like, thanks, guys.
02:12 Yeah, Sophia gets more candid about her sexuality in Glamour's We Need to Talk series.
02:17 I just think I know what I like. I know who I like.
02:20 Is there a label that feels more at home for you?
02:22 Is it bisexual? Is it queer? Is it lesbian?
02:26 Maybe it's none of the above, but is it for you?
02:29 For me, I think it's queerness.
02:32 When you are a person who lives in the public eye, everybody wants to pick over everything.
02:37 And that can be really tricky.
02:39 And now Sophia doesn't care what people think and says she couldn't be happier living in her truth.
02:44 I feel like I've been wearing an 80-pound weighted vest for probably a decade.
02:51 I was sitting at my house with my best friend talking about, like, feeling excited.
02:58 Oh, sorry. I didn't think that was going to make me emotional.
03:03 Feeling excited about the future.
03:06 I love that she's unafraid.
03:08 It's my job as her best friend to protect her as well
03:12 because she really is the most wonderful human.
03:14 That's Sophia's One Tree Hill co-star, Hilary Burton.
03:17 Last year, she told ET she's all for her bestie's new chapter.
03:21 What is it like to see someone, as ride or die as Sophia, in such a great space?
03:26 I think being able to celebrate every chapter of a loved one's life is so important.
03:32 And that even means, like, the chapters that are awkward or the chapters that maybe didn't work in the past.
03:36 Whatever is coming next, like, I'm here for it.
03:40 And that's exciting because she's held me in some dark chapters.
03:44 And so for her, I want to celebrate the wins.
03:47 And I want to, again, like, protect her at all costs.
03:50 That's a good woman.
