00:30President Ferdinand R. Marcus Jr. visited the 6th Infantry Division of the Philippine
00:34Army in Dato' Odin Sin Suat Maguindanao del Norte earlier today.
00:38He visited the wounded in action soldiers and provided financial assistance amounting
00:43to 100,000 pesos cash checks to seven soldiers who recently fought against the Bangsamor
00:48Islamic Freedom Fighters.
00:50Prior to that, President R. Marcus Jr. led the 10th year anniversary of the signing of
00:55the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro.
00:58And as President, I will exercise that strong political will for the success of the Bangsamoro
01:06region.
01:07Here, the President encouraged residents of the BARM to participate in the upcoming BARM
01:13elections next year.
01:15I urge you, safeguard those rights, empower yourselves.
01:20Take part in our shared task of nation-building.
01:51President R. Marcus also warned against any plans to disrupt the BARM elections.
01:56The President assures a fair, orderly, and credible elections.
02:00Let this also serve as a warning to those who may plan to threaten and derail this upcoming
02:05election.
02:06Don't think about that because your enemy is the government.
02:15Instead, channel your energy to help build productive and thriving communities where
02:20citizens are offered wide livelihood opportunities and healthy living spaces.
02:26The President also expressed confidence in the Armed Forces of the Philippines to maintain
02:31peace and order in the forthcoming BARM election.
02:33He also called for continued unity in implementing the whole-of-society approach to improve living
02:39conditions in the Bangsamoro region.
02:42He also emphasized government's commitment to advancing peace.
02:46As we embark on a new chapter towards reconciliation, which shall be bolstered by the fast-approaching
02:52start of the amnesty application by the National Amnesty Commission, I am once again conveying
02:59my commitment to the normalization of the Bangsamoro communities, especially to the
03:04MILF and the MNLS members.
03:07A CAB was signed between the government and the MILF on March 27, 2014, 17 years after
03:13peace negotiations began in 1997.
03:16The President thanked the peace partners and extended gratitude to all peace-loving citizens
03:21of the Bangsamoro.
03:23He also led the graduation ceremony of the first batch of Moro combatants who successfully
03:28completed the Bangsamoro Police Basic Recruit Course at Camp Pendatun in the municipality
03:33of Parang.
03:34Last year, the Commander-in-Chief stated that as long as these individuals remain true and
03:39loyal to their duties as members of the police force, they will have his full support.
03:44The graduating trainees, according to the President, will contribute to writing a new
03:48chapter for the Bangsamoro.
03:50The Chief Executive also went to Piquit, Cotabato for the inauguration of the Malitubog-Maridagao
03:56Irrigation Project Stage 2.
03:58This is a government initiative to maximize water supply amidst the expected onset of
04:04large parts of Mindanao this year.
04:07According to the President, this project will not only supply water to the farmlands in
04:11Cotabato and Maguindanao, but also nourish peace and democracy, which the administration
04:16is promoting in conflict areas.
