00:00 (dramatic music)
00:01 - Anything can happen out there.
00:02 No matter what we encounter, we accept it,
00:04 we embrace it, and we keep going.
00:06 - There have been a lot of dog films made.
00:08 This one is more a movie about a transformation,
00:11 both for the dog, but primarily for Michael Lenard
00:14 and played by Mark Wahlberg.
00:16 - I never even had a pet.
00:18 (dramatic music)
00:22 - I had been extremely excited to see
00:25 what he could bring to this role of Michael,
00:28 and I think he exceeded everyone's expectations.
00:31 - Just keep paddling harder!
00:33 - I spent a lot of time kayaking,
00:35 kayaked here with Michael, spent a lot of time cycling,
00:38 but I think at the end of the day,
00:40 it just takes a different toughness
00:41 to be able to compete at that level,
00:44 at that amount of distance, time,
00:45 and endure that amount of pain and suffering.
00:47 - You know what I learned?
00:49 I learned that I could embrace pain, buckets of it.
00:52 - Mark Wahlberg's a phenom.
00:54 There's no surprise that he's multi-talented
00:57 and a real businessman and understands his brand.
01:01 Mark is an incredible leader.
01:03 - That's what I do, okay?
01:05 Race is race.
01:06 - He brings this incredibly relaxed energy to set
01:10 and into each scene.
