South Korean artist enchanted by "heaven of creation" in China's Jingdezhen

Eve Suh, a South Korean artist who has spent several weeks in Jingdezhen, China's renowned "porcelain capital," says the city's vibrant artistic environment makes her feel as if she's discovered a paradise for ceramic art. 00:17I'm from South Korea and I just came to Jingdezhen like two months ago and then I'm working in

00:24Taoshichuan International Art Residency right now.

00:35This work is like a flower pot and she's blossoming like a little girl.

00:42Originally I studied sculpture fine art in the university so my work is kind of based

00:50on sculpture and ceramics.

00:52I don't know much about ceramic skills actually.

01:01I was really shocked many masters here are really skillful.

01:06I think it's they're not learning from like education university, maybe it's from their

01:12family and then they really taught themselves by their own experience.

01:38This place is kind of heaven like all the materials, all the masters and whatever you

01:45imagine your dream like you can kind of come to your dream like you can do what you want

01:52to do.

01:53And I really love it and then when I came there are really a lot of foreigners and also

02:00really many people literally living here with ceramics like many masters, even many residency.

02:15I love the food a lot, really nice.

02:19I love spicy food.

02:21Also Alipay works really good, everything like so convenient and taxi so cheap.

02:29I really, really love.

02:31Today I'm very happy to talk about my work with the title Adrift by Choice.

02:37For me it was very nice to being here and I learned many things.

02:41Definitely when I go back to Korea I want to share and I wish there is more opportunity

02:47like this, Korea and China and then through this we share our experience and information

02:55together would be really great.
