00:00 Yesterday, I didn't know it was today, yesterday Desmond was lining up,
00:03 he played some outside cornering, he gave you a free safety a little bit.
00:07 >> Yeah, Desmond, he came in as a corner, so he's playing some corner,
00:12 he's playing some free safety, he's our starting nickel.
00:15 But it's good to have some position flex, we can do more things with you.
00:18 >> You guys did not bring in, I mean you have Ty to also kick,
00:24 but you didn't bring in another just straight kicker to compete with Michael.
00:28 Is that because of Ty or is there- >> Probably because of Ty,
00:31 if something happens to Mike, we feel like Ty can go in and get us out of a game.
00:35 And Ty's not a bad kicker, he's done it before for a job.
00:38 So in practice, he's looked pretty good kicking as a matter of fact.
00:42 >> Are you happy with, I would say, the way Michael kicked last year?
00:48 Are you, I don't wanna say comfortable, cuz I don't know if that's the right word.
00:51 >> [LAUGH] No, being comfortable don't get along.
00:54 But no, I am happy with Mike, I like the way he kicked last year.
00:57 He finished strong, he came in, he won the job, and it's his job.
01:03 We're very happy with our kicker right now.
01:05 >> Is he, his kickoff, is that something that you think he can-
01:10 >> His kickoff, he can improve,
01:12 no doubt about it.
01:13 And Ty, Ty can kick off as well.
01:15 So right now, I don't know who's gonna be kicking off when we play Indianapolis, but
01:20 Mike kickoffs can definitely improve.
01:22 >> Is the plan to sort of ease into your adderly ends,
01:26 working with the third team, is that the plan for you guys?
01:29 >> Yeah, we work at it, man.
01:30 He works on with the second team, and in better than me,
01:33 he works on the first team.
01:35 So preseason games come around, those guys don't get a lot of reps.
01:38 And they're gonna move up and down that depth chart, and
01:40 we'll see who's gonna make plays.
01:42 >> Do you feel like he will eventually be in the mix to start?
01:45 >> Well, him and Rayshon Jenkins right now,
01:48 I think that's pretty good competition back there.
01:50 And then you have Watkins.
01:51 I mean, Watkins may have been our starting free safety last year.
01:55 If he had stayed healthy, so there's a heck of a competition back there right now.
01:59 Rayshon right now, he's the number one.
02:01 But like I said, we haven't played a snap yet.
02:03 So once we get in games, we'll figure that out.
02:05 >> Do you think Rayshon has an advantage,
02:06 cuz he was here last year, he got to play some playoff games also?
02:09 >> Rayshon's been in the system for three years.
02:11 He's a heck of an athlete.
02:13 He's gotta be one of the most athletic free safeties in the league.
02:16 Now he just have to make better decisions.
02:18 And once he learn what he's doing, and he can help people around him,
02:21 he's gonna be a really good football player.
02:23 >> Is Khyzer okay?
02:24 I think he had a rest day, maybe he don't wanna practice today?
02:27 >> No, Khyzer worked today.
02:29 He worked today.
02:29 >> But everything else- >> Yeah, we're gonna monitor him.
02:31 There are days you won't see him out there working, but he did work today.
02:33 >> Okay, how satisfied are you?
02:35 >> No, I'm sorry, you know what?
02:37 Today was Khyzer's day off.
02:38 Tomorrow he will work.
02:39 Cuz I want him for the first- >> So just a rest day?
02:41 >> Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's all.
02:42 He's fine.
02:43 >> How satisfied are you with the depth you have by receiver?
02:47 And are you- >> Well, we're looking.
02:48 >> Do you like the competition you have?
02:49 >> I like the competition, though.
02:50 Andre Patton, I mean, he's making plays.
02:53 Seems like every practice he makes a play.
02:54 Or Tavius Scott makes a play.
02:56 Both of those guys are very focused in the offseason.
02:59 They know it's a good competition.
03:00 They know they have an opportunity to step up and help this football team.
03:03 And I believe they will.
03:04 >> Do you like what you see out of Jason Morris?
03:06 Seems like he's been making plays early in Camp 89.
03:08 >> Yeah, no doubt, no doubt.
03:09 He's been making plays, too.
03:10 Like I said, right now, we have a lot of guys, a good competition out here.
03:13 But when we get the pads on, we get in games,
03:16 I think guys will start to separate themselves a little bit, at least they should.
03:18 >> You mentioned with Rayshard, making better decisions.
03:22 Is that just getting more comfortable in the system, or is that just-
03:27 >> No doubt, just getting more comfortable in the system,
03:30 being with his position coach.
03:31 He should be making better decisions this year, to be honest with you.
03:38 That's what I'm expecting from him.
03:39 Him and I always talked about it.
03:41 And he's a very aggressive football player.
03:43 And sometimes we have to control his aggression so
03:46 that he don't get so many penalties like he was getting earlier in his career.
03:50 But I think he toned it down last year.
03:52 I saw him mature a little bit, and he just picked up where he's left off.
03:57 >> How about for Justin Jones?
03:59 No tellery out yet, but Jones been in the system for a year or so.
04:02 >> Yeah, he's looking good.
04:03 I like the way JJ's looking.
04:05 >> [INAUDIBLE]
04:09 >> Jerry's working in individual right now.
04:11 Next week, he'll get a little bit more, a little bit more.
04:13 And we're in no rush to throw him out there before he's ready.
04:16 But when he's ready, we want him out there, trust me.
04:19 >> Forrest Lamb, Bennington, first team looks at left guard.
04:22 >> Yeah. >> Do you like his progress?
04:23 >> Forrest is gonna get looks at both guards, not just left guard.
04:27 And I like the way he's looked so far.
04:29 Yeah.
04:29 >> Just with Tyrod Taylor, how comforting, I mean,
04:33 the ADR touchdown today, how comforting is it having a back and
04:36 forth experience that can- >> Well, I've coached Tyrod when I was OC
04:39 in Buffalo.
04:40 I'm very familiar with him and what he can do and his skill set.
04:44 So we're fortunate to have him.
