00:00It's fun to just talk about the season and a real game and game week and it's 2020.
00:07Nothing has been normal, as we all know about this year for
00:12the most part the entire year.
00:15But we're starting in a very historical place that college football
00:21has been such a great part of Notre Dame, the institution.
00:26I think it's unique and it's appropriate that 2020 opens in South Bend
00:31against a great team, first of all, top 10 team without a doubt.
00:36Just look at their ability, their talent, but
00:39as a program one of the top five programs in the history of college football.
00:44So it's a great opportunity to test your team,
00:47it's a great opportunity to energize your team.
00:50And when we found out we're playing Notre Dame up there to open,
00:56I think that helped us realizing how big a challenge that is.
01:00I think it really did infuse some energy into our camp and
01:04into the preseason work and practices.
01:08Notre Dame is formidable, they're physical.
01:11They've got a great player quarterback and Ian book.
01:13They got just a great offensive front and plenty of skill around there.
01:18Defensively, a lot of people back that are big time play makers.
01:23You see their speed, you see their strength on defense and
01:27then they're outstanding in the kicking game.
01:30They've got good specialists, but beyond that, their players play hard.
01:36They're complete, they're well coached.
01:39Brian Kelly does a great job, the coordinators do a great job.
01:44I've spent obviously hours and hours looking at them,
01:48so we'll find out a lot about ourselves.
01:51Our team has done a great job of staying focused,
01:55doing what we've asked them to do.
01:58We've stayed as healthy as we could.
02:01When it comes to the virus, we have stayed as healthy as we could to whatever
02:06level that is, certainly losing Jack Wallabaugh was a tough blow.
02:12But for the most part, our team is healthy and ready to move forward.
