Buckie Thistle lifted the Highland League title to end a seven year trophy wait after a 1-0 win over Keith. Interviews with manager Graeme Stewart and players Marcus Goodall and Max Barry at the Victoria Park party.

00:46 But typical Bucky, we never do nothing easy.

00:49 And we dragged out the last minute and phenomenal effort from the players.

00:52 It's been a tough season.

00:54 I'm not gonna go into all the details, but everyone knows why.

00:56 Not training, multiple games, four games a week for three, four weeks.

01:00 It's crazy.

01:02 So to win the league and do what these guys have done,

01:04 I cannot be more proud of them.

01:06 Probably the proudest moment of my football career,

01:08 managing this team's a special team.

01:11 And they should have won stuff before now.

01:12 It's a very special team with special players, but also special characters.

01:16 And they deserve all the credit they get and all the audits they get over the next

01:21 couple of weeks and hopefully they can finish off in Tuesday Cup Final and

01:24 then go and play East Kilbride, which we look forward to.

01:26 >> That's it, I mean, you've obviously had a lot of sticking in the last couple of

01:29 years for not getting that trophy, so it must be a big monkey off the back.

01:32 Do you feel like the trophies will continue to come now?

01:34 >> If the team sticks together, they will.

01:36 And that's down to the club, myself, and the players.

01:38 Because Bucky's a big part of my life.

01:41 The players are all under contract, but some of them have got a year left.

01:46 I think it'd be silly to leave a club like this, genuinely.

01:49 Silly if you're a player to leave a club like this,

01:50 because unless you're going higher full time, because it's a big club in

01:55 the Highland League, it's got a big farm base.

01:58 It's got everything you want in a club.

02:00 And it's got a great team, which is the most important thing.

02:04 So some of the players, hopefully, will sign you longer contracts and

02:07 then we can go and try and dominate.

02:09 >> So you've got Tuesday coming up and then you've obviously got the playoffs as well.

02:12 How important are they for Bucky?

02:14 >> Well, they weren't important at all until about 15,

02:17 20 minutes ago when we won, because I didn't even think about them.

02:19 Now, that'll be a nice challenge.

02:22 In my stage of my career, we did a playoff seven, eight years ago.

02:26 At that point, the club wasn't in a position maybe to go for it.

02:30 This team's good enough.

02:31 Trust me, this team is good enough.

02:32 Whether or not we'll have the energy levels, whether or not we'll get the luck.

02:35 But this team is definitely, in my opinion, good enough to play a level above.

02:39 Like I said, that's not to say we're gonna go and do it.

02:41 But I'm just saying that I'm very confident if this team was to step

02:46 up a level that the majority, if not all, the players could play that level.

03:02 >> It's unbelievable.

03:03 See, today, a bit of a struggle, the game, but the boys got on the line.

03:07 Last two weeks have been tough.

03:09 But going on the line's just been unbelievable.

03:12 See, today, I thought after last season, I'm not sure how long it would take to win

03:16 the league, but I'm glad I've got a deal this year.

03:18 So I wanna mark off, hopefully it's not the last game, but

03:20 I've got to celebrate tonight.

03:23 I just wanted to come on and try and mark up the foot.

03:25 Our boys are good enough, they see it, so I can't complain.

03:28 Great job done, that's it.

03:30 Didn't think I'd ever play at Celtic Park, and

03:32 then also I wanted to win the league and all.

03:35 So to be out in the same season is unbelievable, and

03:38 I didn't think I'd get much better than this.

03:40 For the tune, it's massive.

03:41 The FIBA club's one of the biggest assets of the tune,

03:45 has been since I was a young boy.

03:46 We've been unbelievably supportive all through,

03:50 Celtic game, we're in here today again, so hopefully everybody enjoys their night

03:54 >> Feels a bit surreal, it's almost like the Celtic game we had at the start of

04:03 the season.

04:04 It's a long time coming, three years we've been so close, every year and now.

04:10 This year we've finally done it and got across the line.

04:14 I don't know what the score was at the other game, but

04:15 I think it obviously hasn't mattered today.

04:18 But now, as long as we've won 1-0, it doesn't really matter.

04:21 It didn't matter who scored today as long as we won, and I'm just glad we've won.

04:28 >> Yeah, hopefully, double would be good.
