00:00 And there were things I loved about it.
00:02 But, you know, it is work,
00:04 and I think we do have to keep that in mind.
00:06 Aubrey Anderson-Emmons is opening up about her time on Modern Family.
00:11 The actress takes to TikTok April 17th,
00:13 posting a get ready with me and reliving some memories
00:16 from the ABC sitcom that ran from 2009 to 2020.
00:20 Aubrey, who played Lily Tucker Pritchett on the show for nine seasons,
00:23 first shares how she landed the role
00:25 and the immediate chemistry she had with on-screen dad Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
00:29 I feel like some of you are probably like,
00:31 "How does the type of opportunity to be a series regular
00:35 on a big sitcom show like that just come about when you're like four years old?"
00:40 And the answer is, my mom is also an actor,
00:42 and she's in the industry, and she's also a comedian.
00:45 And her agent actually told her, like, "Yo, like, she should go out for this."
00:49 So I did, um, I think, I don't know if it was two or three auditions for the whole thing.
00:55 Like, obviously I had some sort of a callback,
00:57 so there was at least two.
00:59 And I had a chemistry read with Jesse Tyler Ferguson,
01:02 who plays my, um, dad on the show.
01:06 He's the ginger one. Love him.
01:08 The 16-year-old then addresses the question she gets the most.
01:11 Was it fun filming Modern Family?
01:14 People ask me, like, "Oh my God, like, was that really fun growing up?
01:18 Like, growing up on a set like that, that must be so cool to grow up around all those people."
01:22 And the thing is that I think people don't realize was,
01:24 I was working, and if I wasn't working on the set,
01:28 then I had to do three hours of studio school a day.
01:31 So I had no time to rest except lunch.
01:35 Like, you know what I mean?
01:37 And there are moments that were fun, for sure,
01:40 and there were things that I loved about it.
01:42 But, you know, it is work, and I think we do have to keep that in mind.
01:47 Aubrey then reveals that filming the later seasons of the show got a little lonely.
01:51 As co-stars Arielle Winter, Nolan Gould, and Rico Rodriguez all turned 18 years before her
01:57 and no longer had to attend school on set.
02:00 Since I'm not the same age as them, they graduated all before me,
02:03 and then when, like, I was kind of, like, 10 years old and above,
02:07 like, I was doing school with nobody but the set teacher,
02:12 which is nice because you get more one-on-one time,
02:14 but you're also not having social interactions with other kids.
02:17 Aubrey, who's also a musician, ends her video by giving fans an update on her life currently,
02:22 sharing that after Modern Family ended, she thought she would leave the industry.
02:26 But that's recently changed.
02:28 I took a bit of a break, like, right after the show ended,
02:32 and I thought that I would never act again in my life.
02:35 And then I went to high school, and I was like, maybe I should.
02:40 Yeah, I took a break, and then I started the theater class at my school,
02:43 and I was like, wait, I kind of want to do this.
02:46 And now I'm auditioning again.
02:49 And her Modern Family co-stars have been supporting her return to acting.
02:53 Last month, Jesse shared that he and former co-star Julie Bowen attended Aubrey's play,
02:58 taking to Instagram March 13th to share a pic of the three of them, writing,
03:02 "Took my sis to see the kiddo in her school musical, 'The Theory of Relativity.'
03:06 So proud of you."
