The best PSVR 2 games are currently a strange mix of older titles originally released for
00:06
PSVR 1, or other VR headsets, and stage setters like Horizon Call of the Mountain. The launch
00:12
window for the headset will see the release, or re-release, of over 30 titles, so arranging
00:17
a list for the best PSVR 2 games could change dramatically over the next month or so. Here
00:22
are the experiences we currently consider to be the best PSVR 2 games to explore at
00:27
launch.
00:29
Kayak VR Mirage will make you want to take off the PSVR 2 headset and head for the water,
00:34
but as a second best to the real thing, the water physics and graphics here are utterly
00:39
stunning. It's one of those games that can fit with whatever pace you're looking for.
00:42
Race against a leaderboard of fellow kayakers, take the scenic route in free roam mode, or
00:47
just sit back and enjoy the views. There's nothing quite like paddling alongside a stingray
00:51
in Costa Rica after a stressful day at work, especially when it looks as good as this.
00:56
It's mechanically brilliant too, accurately mirroring how it feels and works using a kayak
01:01
in real life.
01:02
There are few games that have surprised and delighted me like What The Golf, so it should
01:07
come as little surprise that What The Bat, the spiritual successor from the same developer,
01:11
has quickly become one of my favourite titles among the admittedly short PSVR 2 launch lineup.
01:17
The premise of the game is relatively simple, use two bats to hit trophies. This starts
01:21
with the basic hit ball to hit trophy, and escalates wildly to scenarios requiring you
01:25
to brush your teeth with a bat and more. This creative game will have you giggling
01:30
to yourself behind the VR headset.
01:32
Moss Book 2 is a perfect game for anyone who's worried about the motion sickness that can
01:37
come from a first person VR experience.
01:39
Both a compelling story and a clever take on the 3D platforming games, Moss Book 2 puts
01:44
you in the shoes of a Ghibli-like spirit that aids a heroic mouse on its quest for glory.
01:48
It may not be a new game, but it's lovely environments are brought to life like never
01:51
before by PSVR 2's OLED display. This is a truly relaxing VR experience that makes
01:57
clever use of the hardware, and one you can happily lose hours to, all the while controlling
02:02
an adorable wee mouse.
02:04
Demio brings the tabletop gaming experience to VR with brilliant success. Looming over
02:09
procedurally generated dungeons, you'll be able to walk through multiple floors of enemies,
02:14
mysteries and potential traps either alone or with friends. The interactivity of moving
02:18
your characters around using cards from your hand that are revealed at the flick of the
02:22
wrist is really enjoyable. This is a really great social game to play with friends who
02:26
also have VR headsets, and it's also quite a good dungeon crawler, with the procedurally
02:30
generated enemies also adding a bit of longevity.
02:33
Horizon Call of the Mountain is the best PSVR 2 game because it's the only one truly made
02:37
solely for the hardware, and thus the best at showing off what it's capable of. It's
02:41
also brilliant because it's a brilliant game in and of itself. Visually stunning, it does
02:45
well to translate the magic of Horizon's console gameplay into a brilliantly virtual
02:49
reality setting, offering a unique storyline. Bow combat is great, as are the robot dinosaurs
02:54
in all their giant scale. Not to mention all the little details Biosprite and Gorilla have
02:58
added to the world to bring it to life in VR. It's unmissable if you have a PSVR 2.
