Ed Miliband branded Tory mayoral candidate Susan Hall a ‘flat earther’ during a campaign with Labour's Sadiq Khan. The shadow secretary for energy security and net zero said voting for anyone else but Sadiq could give Susan Hall a ticket to City Hall. Speaking about deputy leader Angela Rayner, he said she is an inspiration and “exactly the kind of person we need in politics."The shadow energy minister told PA: “We are absolutely 100% behind Angela. We are absolutely confident that she has complied with the rules. She welcomes the fact she can set out the facts.”He added: “My message to the country is we are incredibly proud of Angela Rayner, our deputy leader.“She is an inspiring person, she is exactly the kind of person we need in politics.“If a Labour government is elected, I look forward to Angela Rayner serving as deputy prime minister. Frankly the Conservative party is a desperate party that has nothing to say to the country about the big issues that it faces. “

00:39it would be a global embarrassment for Britain if Susan Hall was elected as the Mayor of London,

00:45it would empower and embolden the Anti-Net Zero, Flat Earth Brigade across the world,

00:51and you know, I do want to make clear today in my support for Sadiq, that because the Tories have

00:56changed the system for electing the Mayor, you only get one vote, and a vote for anyone other

01:01than Sadiq, risks letting Susan Hall in by the back door.

01:16Climate, literally people saying, questioning whether climate change is man-made,

01:21that makes you a Climate Denier, that makes you a Flat Earther, this is a, this is a fringe

01:27conspiracy theory, and I'm afraid it says a lot about where the Conservative Party is going in

01:33our country, which is in this direction, I'm proud that over 20 years we have built a climate

01:41consensus, and I worry about where the Conservative Party is going, but I certainly don't think

01:46it's where the people of London are.
