00:18 In an interview on The Talk April 1st,
00:20 Matt, who plays Logan on the show,
00:22 responds to recent criticism,
00:24 saying his Gilmore Girls character was below average.
00:27 We shouldn't be searching for perfection in anything,
00:31 you know, whether it be relationships or--
00:34 There you go.
00:35 Whatever it may be.
00:36 But I think, you know, that show has spanned generations
00:41 because of the timeless nature of it.
00:42 And Amy Sherman-Paladino and Dan Paladino
00:45 who created that show are amazing artists.
00:48 And when it comes to Rory's other leading men,
00:50 aka Jess and Dean, he says each one has their own merits.
00:54 I think that Logan had his strengths and weaknesses
00:57 and Jess has his strengths and weaknesses
00:59 and Dean has their strengths and weaknesses like we all do.
01:02 And I think the fun of the show is that
01:04 you've got these characters who are flawed
01:06 and they have these great pieces
01:08 and everybody debates of who's best for Rory
01:12 because they feel different about their strengths
01:14 and weaknesses that might match up.
01:16 So I think as long as we're not shooting for perfection,
01:19 then I'm okay with the take.
01:21 Though Rory and Logan parted ways amicably
01:23 at the end of the original series,
01:25 the two reunited for 2016's Gilmore Girls A Year in the Life.
01:29 The two characters even found themselves having an affair
01:32 despite the fact Rory was dating somebody else
01:35 and Logan was engaged.
01:37 And to make things even more complicated,
01:39 when Rory finds herself pregnant
01:40 at the end of the limited reunion series,
01:43 it was subtly implied that Logan is the father.
01:45 But before that was officially confirmed in March, 2023,
01:49 Matt was ready to take the fact to the grave,
01:51 telling E! News,
01:53 - Are you Rory's baby daddy?
01:54 [laughing]
01:55 - That's a question for Amy Sherman Paladino to answer.
01:59 I cannot answer that question.
02:01 - Did she tell you what you are or aren't allowed
02:03 to say about that?
02:04 Are there guidelines?
02:05 - She did not tell me that.
02:06 Actually, she told me I could say whatever I wanted.
02:08 And that's what I've always chosen to say, yeah.
02:11 She did tell me what the situation is with that,
02:14 but for me, it's just like, it's not my story.

02:18 - Yeah, it's not my story, it's Amy and Dan's story.
02:22 They're the creators of it,
02:23 so I just feel like they've not said it,
02:25 so if they wanna say whatever it is,
02:27 then they should be the ones to say it, not me.
