00:00 You participated in the docuseries.
00:02 Why was it important for you to be a part of that?
00:06 I would say the biggest reason that I sat down
00:10 was for my kids.
00:12 The entertainment industry is not the only industry
00:15 that punishes people for coming forward
00:18 about a toxic work environment or abuse in the workplace.
00:22 Ooh, cute boy to the left, green shirt, backpack.
00:24 Alexa was just 12 years old when she starred for two seasons
00:28 alongside Jamie Lynn Spears on "Zoey 101."
00:30 "Access" was on the set in 2004.
00:32 All right, go ahead and give me your real name.
00:34 Alexa Nicholas.
00:35 And who do you play?
00:36 I play Nicole.
00:37 In the "Quiet on Set" docuseries,
00:39 Alexa brings new allegations against the show's creator,
00:42 Dan Schneider, seen here behind the scenes
00:44 whispering in Alexa's ear on the 2004 set.
00:47 And the most important rule,
00:48 nothing that anyone says or does leaves this room.
00:51 He was really the problem on set,
00:53 well, other than the kid bullying situation,
00:56 but that's also kids.
00:58 So he was the adult.
00:59 Yeah.
01:00 And so it's a little bit of a, you know,
01:02 different scenario.
01:03 And the wardrobe for me
01:05 was always very different than Jamie's.
01:08 Mine was always, like, short skirts
01:11 and, like, fitted tops, even, like, off the shoulder.
01:14 How about this top? You like this top?
01:17 It makes me look chesty.
01:18 Dan Schneider would come into the wardrobe fittings,
01:21 and I would come out, and I would do the spin,
01:25 and then they would take the Polaroid of me,
01:29 and then he would say, "Can I have the Polaroids?"
01:32 at the end.
01:33 Now, when I look back at that, that's weird.
01:36 Why does he want those Polaroids?
01:37 Why does it really matter to him what I'm wearing?
01:41 And he picked, a lot of the time, short skirts.
01:45 The notion that I had the power
01:46 to just produce whatever I wanted and have it air
01:49 is completely false.
01:50 In an interview posted on the Dan Warb YouTube channel
01:53 after the docuseries was released,
01:55 Schneider said the wardrobe on the show
01:57 went through layers of approval beyond him,
02:00 though he did acknowledge and apologize
02:02 for certain past behavior.
02:03 Was there fear around if you expressed concern,
02:07 there would be punishment or passive aggression?
02:11 A lot of being in the industry is discomfort as a child star,
02:15 and what you don't want to be is problematic
02:18 or complain too much or, honestly, complain at all
02:21 because you see what happens to other friends of yours
02:25 that have tantrums on set.
02:26 They don't work again.
02:28 And Alexa has started her own movement,
02:31 Eat Predators, to help end predatory behaviors
02:34 within the industry.
