00:00 Bill Nye, is that you?
00:02 The beloved science expert switched up his style
00:04 for a jaw-dropping photo shoot
00:05 for Time Out New York this week.
00:07 Bill swapped his signature suit and bow tie
00:09 for a series of bold streetwear looks,
00:11 giving him an entirely new vibe.
00:13 On the magazine's cover, he wore a bright puffer vest
00:16 and matching sunglasses, paired with baggy cargo pants.
00:19 He also rocked a black bomber jacket and flight pants
00:22 with a silver chain around his neck.
00:23 Bill also tried out a graphic tee and a Versace jacket,
00:26 giving the camera a runway-ready pout.
00:28 And he also had fun posing in a trendy silver puffer.
00:31 All of the looks were styled by Melissa Lynn Woodbury,
00:34 who thanked Bill on Instagram for, quote,
00:35 "letting me get cyberpunk with you."
00:37 In addition to posing for Time Out New York,
00:39 Bill told the magazine all about
00:41 the upcoming solar eclipse.
00:42 "The exciting celestial phenomenon,
00:44 where the moon passes between the Earth and the sun,
00:46 will happen on April 8th, and Bill will be watching,"
00:49 he told the outlet.
00:50 "Don't miss this eclipse. It's a big deal.
00:52 The next one's not for 20 years.
00:54 You don't know where you're going to be
00:55 or if you're gonna be able to be there, so catch this one."
00:58 While most of the US will be able to take part
01:00 in a partial solar eclipse,
01:01 those in the path of totality
01:03 will be able to experience a total eclipse,
01:05 which Bill says, quote, "will change your life."
01:08 He encouraged those close to the direct path
01:09 to travel there to check it out, saying,
01:11 "I really encourage everybody to take that day,
01:13 that midday drive up the road.
01:15 Get in the totality.
01:16 If you're not quite in the path, it's not quite the same."
01:19 Those who do take it in will need to protect themselves
01:21 with special eclipse glasses,
01:23 since viewing it any other way can cause severe eye injury.
01:26 Bill has even made some fun videos spreading the word
01:28 about how to view the total solar eclipse safely.
01:30 "Here's an eclipse tip.
01:32 You want to see the eclipse,
01:34 but you don't want to look at the sun,
01:35 even with a pair of sunglasses.
01:37 Not even two pairs of sunglasses.
01:39 Not even 10 pairs of sunglasses.
01:42 You need a pair of special eclipse glasses, like these.
01:47 Ah, totality."
