World: 30 years of Kurt Cobain's tragic death

00:09 Corbain's tragic death at the age of 27 left an invaluable mark on the music industry and

00:18 countless fans around the globe. Cor Corbain burst onto the music scene in the late of 1980

00:28 with the formation of Nirvana, a band that could become synonymous with the grunge movement and

00:36 redefined the sound of alternative rock. Nirvana's music spoke to a generation

00:42 disillusioned by the social and economic challenges of the era. His passing served

00:49 as a stark reminder of the devastating path of addiction and mental health issues.

00:55 In 1989, Corbain and Nirvana released their first album, "Bleach" which failed to make a

01:10 big impression but it stayed Corbain's songwriting skills. In 1991, Nirvana signed with a major label

01:20 Heaven Records and released their second studio album, "Nevermind" which henceforth gave them

01:28 their grunge label, Nirvana's single, "Smell Like Teen Spirit" became their biggest hit,

01:36 pushing their album to number one on the music charts and establishing Corbain's as a section

01:43 songwriting talent of his era. While Corbain dealt with personal struggles professionally,

01:50 he was at the top of his game. In 1993, Nirvana released "In Utero" which soared to number one

02:01 on the music charts. On April 5th of 1994, in the guesthouse behind his settle home, a 27-year-old

02:11 Corbain committed suicide. Soon after Corbain's death, Nirvana released their "Unplugged"

02:17 sections which also topped album charts.
