00:00:02 - Can you say hard hats, folks?
00:00:07 Hard hats, lunch pail, steel tool, boots.
00:00:10 - Anything short of a championship this year is a fail.
00:00:12 - It's time to look at this boomer right here.
00:00:14 - You've just got so much talent here.
00:00:16 - Somebody said we need to apologize for Jaylen.
00:00:18 - Can I pull the John?
00:00:19 What are we apologizing for?
00:00:21 What did we say?
00:00:22 What did we do?
00:00:23 (upbeat music)
00:00:25 (upbeat music)
00:00:28 - Atta boy.
00:00:33 - Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:00:33 - Ama's paying attention tonight.
00:00:35 - Atta boy, Ama's paying attention.
00:00:37 He is, he's got you.
00:00:39 - John, I haven't seen you around these parts in a while.
00:00:42 - Did you?
00:00:43 Well, I did sneak in from LA.
00:00:45 - You did, LA John.
00:00:47 - Yeah.
00:00:48 - That was a treat.
00:00:49 Well, we know why you did.
00:00:51 We know why you did.
00:00:52 - That was a fun one to talk about
00:00:53 'cause that was just a hilarious, hilarious ending.
00:00:57 - That was hilarious.
00:00:58 You missed a good one Monday night.
00:01:00 - Yeah.
00:01:01 - We had a useless game against Charlotte,
00:01:04 but me, Bobby and Joe Sway at the kids' table
00:01:06 at Thanksgiving, I like to call us.
00:01:08 - No charade.
00:01:09 - We kept it going for an hour and a half plus.
00:01:11 No charade, but he's here tonight.
00:01:13 - No boomers.
00:01:14 - That was a boomer for a little bit.
00:01:17 Tonight, I guess it's the early bird special.
00:01:20 - The boomers are back in the building.
00:01:23 - When I want to see boomers,
00:01:24 they're back in the building.
00:01:26 - Look at what's going on here.
00:01:28 - What is that?
00:01:28 Is that Isaac?
00:01:30 - No, come on.
00:01:31 - PXG.
00:01:32 - PXG.
00:01:33 - Oh, PXG.
00:01:34 Wait a second.
00:01:35 I'm so glad you said that, John.
00:01:37 Where's my PXG?
00:01:38 - They all came in.
00:01:40 - They came in like two weeks ago
00:01:42 and I haven't even gotten one yet.
00:01:43 - They just came in.
00:01:46 - Let them finish, Jimmy.
00:01:47 - How are they?
00:01:48 - Awesome.
00:01:50 - Yeah?
00:01:51 - Awesome.
00:01:52 - Give us a spin.
00:01:52 - So it's like, you know,
00:01:55 those like stretchy golfy sort of shirts,
00:01:57 but it's just awesome.
00:01:59 They're so light.
00:02:00 - Letting the boys breathe a bit, I see.
00:02:01 - Oh my God.
00:02:02 These are awesome.
00:02:04 This is a sponsor on the show.
00:02:05 We'll tell you more about PXG.
00:02:06 - John said Isaac.
00:02:07 We're going to have to bleep that out
00:02:08 because that's disrespectful.
00:02:09 - I know, I know.
00:02:10 You said they came two weeks ago
00:02:12 and that's also disrespectful
00:02:14 because this is the first time I'm wearing it.
00:02:15 - Disrespect to me.
00:02:19 - Anyway, we'll tell you how you can save 10% on it.
00:02:21 It's actually really worth it.
00:02:23 It's great.
00:02:23 I love this stuff.
00:02:24 I love like, I wear a lot of like Peter Millar.
00:02:26 - What other colors do we get?
00:02:28 - They're cool too.
00:02:29 They got these funky ones, like different colors.
00:02:31 This is one of the more muted ones.
00:02:32 There's some funny, there's some fun designs here.
00:02:35 It's really cool.
00:02:36 Really good stuff.
00:02:36 I actually went to the store in Framingham to check it out.
00:02:38 It's pretty cool.
00:02:39 We'll tell you more about it.
00:02:40 - Okay.
00:02:41 - I'm back.
00:02:42 Jimmy's back.
00:02:44 - I ain't never going nowhere.
00:02:46 - Jimmy's going nowhere.
00:02:47 - You can't come back if you ain't never left.
00:02:50 - How are we going to miss you?
00:02:52 Sherrod popped in, but he's gone.
00:02:53 That's all we're going to get out of Sherrod.
00:02:55 Thanks buddy.
00:02:56 - Internet issue.
00:02:57 I bet you he was a power.
00:02:58 I want to say he ran out of power or something like that.
00:03:00 - He gets a full fee.
00:03:02 - Yeah, he does.
00:03:04 Yep.
00:03:04 He will get a piece of the super chats tonight.
00:03:08 - He gets a piece.
00:03:09 You know, before, as we get warmed up,
00:03:12 fun game, I thought, good win.
00:03:15 You know, some coasting, it didn't really matter.
00:03:19 You're playing a shorthanded team.
00:03:21 They still were a threat.
00:03:22 I think the Celtics, the way they put the hammer down,
00:03:24 that was pretty impressive.
00:03:26 They get to 60 wins.
00:03:28 They clinched the number one seed in the NBA.
00:03:32 Championship runs through Boston.
00:03:34 There you go.
00:03:35 All of this has been a foregone conclusion.
00:03:39 I guess the bummer tonight is,
00:03:41 this was the last game I think the Celtics
00:03:44 were going to try to play anything close to real.
00:03:46 And they did.
00:03:47 They played a playoff rotation.
00:03:49 As you saw, they really only went eight deep.
00:03:51 Luke doesn't get in until the very end.
00:03:54 No Tillman whatsoever.
00:03:56 So they played it straight.
00:03:59 They played it like they would normally play.
00:04:01 You know, as I said, there were some lapses,
00:04:04 some sloppy play here and there,
00:04:05 but for the most part, pretty locked in.
00:04:09 Headlines, definitely Porzingis.
00:04:12 - Yeah, he's my number one.
00:04:13 - So that's good.
00:04:15 So we'll get into him a little bit.
00:04:16 Also a surprise team has slid into play-in territory
00:04:20 after a loss tonight.
00:04:21 We'll talk about that as well.
00:04:24 And you know, a team we haven't talked a lot about
00:04:26 as a potential first round matchup is now in the mix.
00:04:29 So we'll talk about that also.
00:04:31 Bucs go down to the Grizzlies a night after-
00:04:35 - Sherrod's back.
00:04:36 - Yeah, Sherrod's back.
00:04:38 So let's bring in Sherrod for his thoughts.
00:04:40 And Sherrod, open it with you.
00:04:42 Opening thoughts, what did you think?
00:04:45 - Tonight they did exactly what you were hoping they do,
00:04:47 especially when you knew that Shea
00:04:49 wasn't gonna be playing.
00:04:51 This is what you're supposed to do to good teams
00:04:52 when their best player is out there.
00:04:54 You hammer them.
00:04:55 It took a little bit of while to get going.
00:04:57 I thought Jalen, you know, first half was,
00:04:59 I don't know where the hell he was, first half.
00:05:01 But second half, he was real impactful,
00:05:03 did a lot of good things.
00:05:04 And, well, Porzingis is,
00:05:06 but I mean, John, you hit the nail on the head.
00:05:07 Porzingis is the story of this game.
00:05:09 And I love the fact that he was going up
00:05:10 against another lean seven-footer
00:05:13 who's basically a younger version of him.
00:05:15 And he, you know, he handled his business.
00:05:19 I mean, he clearly outplayed Chet in this game.
00:05:22 It wasn't even close.
00:05:23 And there aren't a lot of guys
00:05:24 who can say that in the league
00:05:25 'cause Chet's really, really good.
00:05:27 So I enjoyed it.
00:05:28 This was a good game.
00:05:29 They did what they were supposed to do.
00:05:30 And as you pointed out earlier,
00:05:32 the fact that you now have clinched home court
00:05:34 throughout the entire playoffs,
00:05:35 regardless of who you see on that opposite bench,
00:05:38 again, that's what you're supposed to do
00:05:40 when you've had the kind of season they've had.
00:05:42 No let up, so.
00:05:44 - Yeah, well, what was cool,
00:05:45 I mean, they definitely got some switches.
00:05:47 They got Porzingis on shorter guys.
00:05:49 My favorite thing tonight was, you know,
00:05:52 I don't have all the numbers,
00:05:54 but it feels like the Porzingis in the post
00:05:58 was that automatic cheat code
00:05:59 that they had for the first 50 games or so.
00:06:02 And I felt like it went away for just a little spell,
00:06:05 maybe in and around the time he battled his last injury
00:06:07 and then he came back.
00:06:08 It wasn't as automatic as it had been.
00:06:11 It felt like he was forcing some of those up,
00:06:13 maybe looking to draw contact,
00:06:15 just wasn't just knocking them down with ease,
00:06:17 just up and over people.
00:06:19 And tonight was that, you know,
00:06:21 just too small sort of game
00:06:23 where every time he got a switch
00:06:25 and he had somebody that he wanted there,
00:06:26 he got exactly the shot he wanted.
00:06:28 It was a clean look.
00:06:29 And again, looking at the line, 11 of 14, just ridiculous.
00:06:32 'Cause I'll say this,
00:06:35 I do think and I do wonder,
00:06:38 you know, this is the wild card in Boston's offense, right?
00:06:42 The thing that keeps them from going flat
00:06:45 or getting stuck and doing the same sort of thing.
00:06:48 And the thing that's been one of the big differences,
00:06:50 that and plus putting the ball in Derek White's hands
00:06:54 or, you know, getting him involved in actions
00:06:56 either as a screener.
00:06:57 But the Porzingis is the cheat code that's worked all year.
00:07:00 And I wonder, you know,
00:07:01 you have that one game where the Warriors
00:07:05 decide to let Jalen shoot open threes.
00:07:07 I do wonder if a strategy in the playoffs
00:07:09 is just gonna be on the pick and pop,
00:07:11 let Porzingis shoot that three
00:07:13 and concede that shot above everything else.
00:07:15 And rather than the alternative,
00:07:19 I was wondering if that would be the thing
00:07:21 that teams might eventually go to.
00:07:23 So again, nice to see him knock down
00:07:25 three out of three three-pointers
00:07:27 after a cold-ish, you know, little stretch there as well.
00:07:30 But in a pick your poison universe,
00:07:32 I was wondering whether that might be a thing
00:07:33 that they would do,
00:07:34 but just to see him scoring from everywhere tonight
00:07:36 with ease was awesome.
00:07:38 - Yeah, he's a confidence guy.
00:07:42 You know what I mean?
00:07:43 I see him get stronger as the game goes
00:07:45 based on like when he sees a shot go down.
00:07:47 So yeah, they gave him the Jalen Brown treatment
00:07:49 and he made good on it.
00:07:50 What I love is the five blocks.
00:07:52 And if you look at the last,
00:07:53 let's call it five or six games,
00:07:55 this guy has been a block party, right?
00:07:58 Five blocks tonight.
00:08:00 I think he had four blocks the night before.
00:08:03 He's had a couple with three recently, two.
00:08:05 So I love the presence that he's given in the paint there.
00:08:09 And playoff P, Sherrod,
00:08:12 I think playoff P is upon us here, the real playoff P.
00:08:16 So I love what I'm seeing.
00:08:18 This is what we've been saying all year
00:08:21 is all they got to do is make sure Porzingis is healthy
00:08:24 for the start of the playoffs.
00:08:25 Well, here we are, right?
00:08:26 I mean, we're obviously not,
00:08:27 I'm not going to avoid here everybody,
00:08:28 but we're a few games away and he's looking at,
00:08:32 he's honestly looking the best he's looked all season
00:08:35 right now that, you know, the shots are starting to fall.
00:08:37 He's active on both ends.
00:08:39 And I just love what I'm seeing out of Porzingis right now.
00:08:42 So I think he's the X factor.
00:08:44 I don't think that's a hot take,
00:08:45 but he's my big X factor in these playoffs.
00:08:48 I mean, I think we know that Tatum and Brown need help.
00:08:51 They've shown it in past seasons.
00:08:53 Well, what do they do?
00:08:54 They got help this year.
00:08:55 They got Porzingis, they got Holliday,
00:08:56 but I think Porzingis is the real X factor.
00:08:59 So if he's bringing his game,
00:09:01 I don't know who can beat the Celtics.
00:09:04 But the thing you touched on, Jimmy,
00:09:06 that I think is important is to understand that
00:09:09 he is the X factor at both ends of the floor.
00:09:12 And that to me is why he's so special for them
00:09:14 in their journey, because he has the ability
00:09:17 to impact the game in a significant way as a scorer,
00:09:21 as a pick and pop guy, as a rebounder,
00:09:23 as a shot blocker, as a shot alter.
00:09:25 He does a little bit of everything
00:09:27 when he's at the top of his game,
00:09:28 and it just opens up the floodgates
00:09:30 for the rest of those guys.
00:09:32 When you look at the way that he was able to score
00:09:34 the ball, I don't think it's a coincidence
00:09:36 that he drew a little bit more attention
00:09:39 and that opened things up for other guys like Al.
00:09:42 And his teammates were making, I think,
00:09:44 a conscious effort to recognize those mismatches.
00:09:47 I mean, at one point he has the ball on an elbow
00:09:50 and he's looking at it in front of him
00:09:51 and it's Gord Hayward, and he doesn't even jump.
00:09:54 Just shoots right over the top.
00:09:55 It was like, you know when you're a little kid,
00:09:58 well, some of us are still little kids.
00:10:01 We're, sorry, Jimmy, I had to do it, Jimmy.
00:10:03 Had to do it. - It's okay.
00:10:04 - And you just shoot it over the top
00:10:06 without even jumping.
00:10:07 That's what he was doing to a lot of the OKC players.
00:10:11 And Al, same thing with Al.
00:10:13 I mean, Al would get the ball on a block
00:10:14 and Peyton Pritchett would penetrate, find Al,
00:10:16 and Al would see that he'd got like,
00:10:18 door or someone else on him,
00:10:19 and just shoot over the top and went on even jumping.
00:10:22 They are going to need their bigs to be impactful
00:10:25 because you know Jalen, you know Jason,
00:10:27 they're gonna get theirs.
00:10:28 They're gonna make their presence felt,
00:10:29 but their bigs have to have a presence about them.
00:10:31 And Porzingis has to lead that charge.
00:10:34 And he's doing that.
00:10:35 And to your point, Jimmy,
00:10:37 this is the healthiest he's looked really
00:10:39 since the beginning of the season.
00:10:40 - Can't hear you, bud.
00:10:43 - Yeah, John, yeah.
00:10:45 - They managed him perfectly, right?
00:10:47 Like, I mean, what did we say, beginning of the year?
00:10:50 55 to 60 games?
00:10:52 Great, fine.
00:10:53 65 would be the dream.
00:10:54 He's 53, he'll end up playing 55, 56 for the year.
00:10:58 You know, fall short of post-season accolades,
00:11:01 but that doesn't matter.
00:11:02 That's what you wanted.
00:11:03 And it felt like every little teeny thing
00:11:05 was managed just right.
00:11:07 Okay, couple of days here,
00:11:08 a couple of things that were real
00:11:10 that actually necessitated sitting for a couple of games,
00:11:12 the ankle, the calf,
00:11:14 but everything else beyond that was just built-in rest.
00:11:18 And they did it all year long to the point that like,
00:11:20 I think you're going in as fresh
00:11:22 as you could have possibly hoped.
00:11:24 You know, I think we're officially
00:11:25 in the bubble wrap portion of things
00:11:27 with a lot of people here.
00:11:29 And I really do think this is the last game
00:11:31 you'll see more than three regulars playing,
00:11:35 you know, for the rest of the way.
00:11:38 - It should be.
00:11:39 - Maybe you'll get four,
00:11:40 but I think you're gonna be sitting two and three guys
00:11:42 every game the rest of the way, as you absolutely should.
00:11:45 Enough to keep,
00:11:46 I think you'll see some second half rests too.
00:11:49 Guys will go in and play,
00:11:50 and then they'll just sit it out for the rest of the game.
00:11:53 And that's great, 'cause you'll stay sharp,
00:11:55 and that's what you wanna do, and nothing matters.
00:11:57 But the Porzingis thing is perfect.
00:11:59 I think it's exactly what you wanted,
00:12:00 because that was the entire fear, right?
00:12:04 It was like, you pinch yourself sort of dream
00:12:06 with how things are going with the team,
00:12:08 and the chemistry, and how good he looked.
00:12:11 And it's like, well, I guess the only thing
00:12:12 that can derail a finals run is Porzingis getting hurt.
00:12:15 And so again, you're almost there.
00:12:18 You've pretty much made it, which is great.
00:12:20 But again, you just see another flash of the chemistry
00:12:23 and just how well everything works tonight.
00:12:24 Those little moments where Jalen goes in
00:12:27 and whips the pass over his head,
00:12:28 and Porzingis hits the three,
00:12:29 and then he's smiling ear to ear the way down the court.
00:12:32 That stuff's great.
00:12:34 They're definitely vibing still
00:12:36 the way that they were all year long.
00:12:38 We're in that period of the schedule now
00:12:42 where it's just, again, nothing really matters.
00:12:46 Nothing's mattered for so long,
00:12:48 and definitely nothing matters going forward.
00:12:51 - No. - In anything.
00:12:53 - Yeah, I mean, I'm assuming we're gonna talk about 'em
00:12:56 a little bit later, but I'm gonna just kind of
00:12:58 throw his name out there now.
00:13:00 The other playoff P, Peyton Pritchard.
00:13:03 He did not shoot the ball well,
00:13:06 but damn, his command of the floor,
00:13:09 seven assists, zero turnovers.
00:13:11 I mean, he just, if this, if, listen,
00:13:15 if Peyton Pritchard were a impending free agent,
00:13:18 this is the game that you want teams to see.
00:13:22 His ability to, first of all, hold his own defensively,
00:13:25 offensively make all the right decisions,
00:13:27 and the shots that he missed were great, were good shots.
00:13:29 He didn't take bad shots.
00:13:31 So he just didn't make as many as he normally can,
00:13:34 but his ability to just absolutely manage the game
00:13:37 was great, loved it.
00:13:38 This is one of my favorite Peyton Pritchard games.
00:13:39 - On the ESPN broadcast, I don't know who said it,
00:13:41 but they were like, he was,
00:13:43 Pritchard was doing his Pritchard things out there,
00:13:45 and they were just like, he's just a good player.
00:13:48 And I think he said it like three times,
00:13:49 like he's just a good player.
00:13:51 I think that's really what it comes down to.
00:13:53 Like, yeah, he's, you know, he's a good player, Sherrod.
00:13:57 - He's a good guy. - He does good player things.
00:13:59 - He's a good player,
00:14:00 but I think he's expanding his role of being a good player.
00:14:02 Like, remember for the longest time,
00:14:04 it's like, if he's not making shots,
00:14:05 what the hell is he gonna give you?
00:14:06 And now that's not the narrative anymore.
00:14:09 I mean, it's like, if he's not making an impact,
00:14:11 what is he giving you?
00:14:12 And he has the ability to impact the game in multiple ways.
00:14:14 He can knock down shots.
00:14:16 Now he's doing more playmaking.
00:14:18 Now he's, and he's even getting
00:14:19 to the hockey assist game a little bit,
00:14:21 where he's making the pass that leads to the assist.
00:14:23 His game has really expanded in ways
00:14:26 that I don't even, I don't think the Celtics
00:14:28 fully expected him to be this impactful when he plays.
00:14:32 And to me, he's the one guy I wanna see playing
00:14:35 a nice amount of minutes the rest of the way.
00:14:38 I wanna see him in the 20 to 25 range.
00:14:40 - Well, that's the interesting thing
00:14:43 with a lot of the guys who were question marks
00:14:46 on the bench coming in.
00:14:48 Pritchard being one, because, you know,
00:14:51 as we've said on the show, and you just said here,
00:14:53 it was always a instant offense.
00:14:55 He can knock down a three or two.
00:14:57 He's got value.
00:14:57 Anything else beyond that, I'm not really sure.
00:15:00 Areas he's been outstanding this year
00:15:02 in ways that you didn't necessarily think it
00:15:03 was commanding the offense.
00:15:05 You know, he's the best ball handler on the team,
00:15:07 but just the way he's commanded the offense,
00:15:09 the smart, patient decisions,
00:15:12 not forcing things up at the rim, but being able to,
00:15:15 I love the short guy off the wrong foot layup
00:15:20 that you have to do to cheat it,
00:15:22 because they're loading up on the block
00:15:24 for when you go off the left,
00:15:25 so you shoot it off the right foot
00:15:26 just to get it off a split second earlier.
00:15:28 He's had a couple of those recently.
00:15:30 I love those.
00:15:32 But the passing, he's just been unbelievable.
00:15:34 And then his on-ball defense is outstanding.
00:15:37 His isolation defense is really, really good.
00:15:39 So you have that.
00:15:40 You have Sam Houser, who's been extremely competitive
00:15:44 defensively as well.
00:15:46 And then a couple of things tonight.
00:15:47 He's getting a guy on his shoulder,
00:15:50 and he's warding him off,
00:15:51 and he's hitting the little mid-range floater,
00:15:55 and things like that that you don't normally see.
00:15:57 He's freaking got, he's got alley-oops.
00:15:59 He's catching alley-oops this year.
00:16:01 He's doing things beyond just the specialist.
00:16:04 And we thought they had,
00:16:05 we thought they could earn minutes just as specialists.
00:16:10 In the past, we're like,
00:16:11 why do these guys hate shooters or hate offense?
00:16:14 Everybody comes in there,
00:16:15 has to be able to play defense and nothing else.
00:16:17 But now you give these guys a little bit of playing time
00:16:20 and a little bit of consistency.
00:16:22 It goes back to what we said about all the kids.
00:16:25 You can't expect these. - Play them.
00:16:27 - Look at Banton and Stevens, for example.
00:16:30 Like, and I'm not gonna say like,
00:16:31 we screwed up here. - Don't go there.
00:16:33 - If you played them, you might've gotten something.
00:16:36 You didn't.
00:16:36 You played these guys. - You look at their numbers.
00:16:38 Yeah. - Yeah.
00:16:39 - Yeah, you look at their numbers on,
00:16:40 yeah, they're putting up numbers, you know.
00:16:42 Obviously on bad teams. - On crap teams, I get it.
00:16:43 - But you know they can play though.
00:16:45 I mean, that was the thing that we,
00:16:46 I think, realistically had questions about.
00:16:48 - You have to play, guys. - Yeah.
00:16:49 - Yeah. - To find out.
00:16:51 You have to play, guys, to get them into some sort of rhythm
00:16:54 and then you're seeing more things.
00:16:56 Obviously, Neesmith is another option.
00:16:58 I think Romeo was beyond salvation.
00:17:00 I'll eat that one. (laughing)
00:17:03 - Will you finally? - No.
00:17:05 - You're finally gonna give up on that, aren't you?
00:17:07 - Never, never.
00:17:08 He's gonna have a Gerald Green resurgence.
00:17:10 - He's in China somewhere, dude.
00:17:12 - He's gonna have a Gerald Green resurgence.
00:17:13 He's gonna disappear for a couple of years.
00:17:15 He's gonna come back and there it is.
00:17:17 But anyway, so that's all good.
00:17:20 Somebody mentioned it here and we might as well.
00:17:23 We're back in the bracket here and we are in a--
00:17:26 - Oh yeah.
00:17:27 - Vicious final four matchup between--
00:17:29 - Ooh.
00:17:30 - You got Tanguayd and he's your third center.
00:17:33 Now some people had been asking us--
00:17:34 - Oh, no, no, no, no, no, they're not playing.
00:17:36 - Oh no, Luke's lemon squares.
00:17:38 Some people have been asking us,
00:17:40 what's the origin of these things?
00:17:41 You know, and where did they come from?
00:17:45 Which one do you wanna hear from?
00:17:46 - Well, so he's your third center versus Blampied.
00:17:49 That was the matchup on Monday show.
00:17:50 I don't know if we have the results for that yet,
00:17:52 but we showed that one first last time, but it's up to you.
00:17:56 I mean, you can go with the one that's live now.
00:17:58 - The live one now?
00:18:01 - Well, the one that's live now is you got Tanguayd versus--
00:18:04 - You got Tanguayd versus lemon squares.
00:18:06 Here's a reminder of where those things came from.
00:18:11 We'll start with lemon squares.
00:18:12 - It just beats you by double digits
00:18:14 after being down with 28 in your building.
00:18:15 - Bobby, you were in there.
00:18:17 Paint us a picture of the general vibe of this team
00:18:21 feeling, you know, what after this loss?
00:18:24 - Well, Luke Cornett cooked some lemon desserts.
00:18:29 - No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
00:18:34 I can't do it.
00:18:35 I can't, I can't.
00:18:36 - Are you kidding me?
00:18:43 - I can't do it.
00:18:44 I'm gonna give you two minutes.
00:18:45 - Is it over?
00:18:46 Is it over?
00:18:47 - Give me a second timeout.
00:18:49 Give me one of those timeouts and use that thing right now.
00:18:51 Timeout, timeout.
00:18:53 - How did that happen?
00:18:55 - How did the team feel?
00:18:57 - Well, the guy who played two minutes didn't like it.
00:19:00 - Bobby, get back here.
00:19:01 - Luke Cornett, who was watching us.
00:19:04 - I was trying to paint a picture of the locker room.
00:19:06 - I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
00:19:07 It was unfair.
00:19:08 Go ahead.
00:19:09 - Here's where I'm going with it.
00:19:09 Made a bunch of desserts, lemon,
00:19:12 some sort of lemon pastry, untouched.
00:19:15 Untouched in the locker room.
00:19:17 Only Mike Mischella tried one after the game.
00:19:19 - Desserts?
00:19:20 - Luke made them.
00:19:21 - That's it.
00:19:26 Yeah, so now you know why there's a bracket.
00:19:29 - It was a great story.
00:19:30 I feel bad we jumped on Bobby,
00:19:32 but it was just really funny.
00:19:34 Like, nobody-
00:19:34 - Thank God I played two minutes at work.
00:19:37 - You know what?
00:19:37 It really wasn't a great story.
00:19:39 - Well, I mean, it's just a funny observation.
00:19:41 How sad was it?
00:19:42 - Guy brought in some freaking pastries
00:19:43 that his wife gave him to get rid of
00:19:46 and nobody wanted them.
00:19:47 - Bobby legitimately upset and hurt
00:19:50 that no one ate Luke's pastries.
00:19:53 And he was like, "Man, what's wrong with these guys?
00:19:56 This is a bad vibe in this locker room.
00:19:58 They're not eating free pastries."
00:20:00 - Bobby was trying to paint the picture for us.
00:20:02 He was.
00:20:03 - That was great.
00:20:04 Anyway, vote on the bracket.
00:20:06 We're gonna run it all the way through the show here
00:20:09 and you guys get to vote on it.
00:20:10 - Now, you got Tangweight.
00:20:11 Everyone should know what that is
00:20:13 if you've been watching this year, but basically-
00:20:14 - We'll play "You Got Tangweight" a little bit later.
00:20:16 - Oh, we have that origin too?
00:20:17 - Oh, I've got things.
00:20:19 - We should play them both at the same time.
00:20:20 Otherwise, everyone's gonna vote for Luke.
00:20:21 - Yeah, you know, which one of us has producer credits
00:20:24 to their name, Jimmy?
00:20:26 - Ooh.
00:20:27 - Whoa.
00:20:28 - Jimmy, you got sunned.
00:20:29 Hey, sun.
00:20:30 (laughing)
00:20:32 - Jimmy, Jimmy, sun.
00:20:33 - I have gesture credits to his name, but-
00:20:34 - New name, Jimmy, sun.
00:20:36 - Jimmy's jacking my chat all night.
00:20:38 - The only producer I see is producer Amit.
00:20:40 - This is why Nick hates you, by the way.
00:20:43 - You just got Jimmy sunned right there.
00:20:45 - There's a lot of reasons.
00:20:46 - Yeah, we also wanna tell you,
00:20:48 we gotta tell you a little bit about this, right?

00:21:47 I kind of quit golfing.
00:21:49 Yeah.
00:21:50 - You quit golfing.
00:21:51 That's the most sad. - I quit all the time.
00:21:53 - That is the most beta sad thing I've ever heard.
00:21:56 - I quit all the time.
00:21:57 I know.
00:21:59 - You'll be back.
00:22:00 I'll take you to the woodshed this summer.
00:22:02 - Okay, let's do it.
00:22:03 Anyway, we talked about Porzingis being awesome.
00:22:05 Here's Joe talking about Porzingis being awesome.
00:22:09 - Here he comes.
00:22:10 - All right, come on, producer boy.
00:22:12 Hit the clip.
00:22:13 - My hands are-
00:22:14 - You're about to be Wally pipped by me.
00:22:16 - Look at this.
00:22:17 Look at this.
00:22:17 (indistinct)
00:22:18 - This is what happens.
00:22:19 - Hands free.
00:22:20 - Like we didn't have any turnovers on post passes.
00:22:22 - There's nothing else I can do.
00:22:23 - We had very few turnovers in the paint if they collapsed.
00:22:25 Our spacing was rather good if it was a post mismatch
00:22:28 or if it was in the middle of the floor.
00:22:30 And so they tested our discipline to attack the switch,
00:22:33 you know, with size and everything.
00:22:35 And I thought our guys did a great job of trusting that,
00:22:38 which allowed us to open up some other things
00:22:40 throughout the game.
00:22:41 - Yeah.
00:22:45 - And that was Joe talking KP.
00:22:47 - Nice of him to say that.
00:22:51 - Very nice.
00:22:53 - Yeah, it was, yeah.
00:22:55 - We had better-
00:22:56 - It was good.
00:22:57 - We had better-
00:22:57 - We did.
00:22:58 - We had better things to say.
00:23:00 - We did.
00:23:02 - We did.
00:23:03 - We did.
00:23:04 - We did.
00:23:05 - We did.
00:23:05 - Analysis, that's the word.
00:23:07 - Yeah, yeah.
00:23:09 - Producer boy next year's-
00:23:11 - Absolutely.
00:23:12 I just put, I literally put a note in my email.
00:23:14 - I never want to hear another Joe soundbite
00:23:16 like that again, by the way.
00:23:18 - Yeah, Amit, come on.
00:23:19 John might actually have to be the producer after that.
00:23:21 - Come on, producer boy, right.
00:23:23 It keeps rolling downhill.
00:23:27 Apparently Jimmy's higher on the hill than me.
00:23:28 It rolls down to me and then me to Amit, but that's fine.
00:23:31 - Yeah, that's fine.
00:23:34 - Come on, producer boy.
00:23:35 I thought he was good.
00:23:38 Come on.
00:23:38 Yeah.
00:23:39 - Hey, look at he, he bet on the Grizzlies and he won.
00:23:42 So he's going to give us a couple of bucks of his winnings.
00:23:45 Was this KP's best game?
00:23:46 - That's like tip of the dealer.
00:23:48 I like that.
00:23:50 - I don't know if I'm qualified to say
00:23:51 off the top of my head that it was his best game,
00:23:53 but I'll put it in his top 10 for sure.
00:23:55 He's had some good games.
00:23:57 Yeah, I'm talking about something.
00:23:58 He's had some, maybe top five.
00:23:59 He's had some really good games this year.
00:24:01 I'd put it as a top five for sure
00:24:03 for the way he played on both ends of the court,
00:24:05 the start that he had.
00:24:06 I mean, if it wasn't for Porzingis to start this game,
00:24:10 I don't know where the Celtics would have been
00:24:11 because it wasn't Brown.
00:24:13 Tatum was pretty quiet.
00:24:14 So Porzingis was the guy in the first half here.
00:24:17 And so, yeah, I'd say it was one of his best games for sure.
00:24:21 Top five, I'll give it.
00:24:23 - Yeah, but I mean, his start to the season
00:24:26 was pretty damn impressive.
00:24:27 He dropped 30 on the Knicks in the opening.
00:24:29 - Yeah, well that's in the top five too.
00:24:31 - Yeah, yeah.
00:24:32 So he's had some good ones.
00:24:33 He's definitely had his share of really good games.
00:24:38 Dropped 29 against, I think in Bede in November.
00:24:42 Yeah, top five.
00:24:45 Top five comfortably.
00:24:46 Comfortably in the top five.
00:24:47 - Yeah, again, most important thing
00:24:51 is just looking good now.
00:24:54 Like in addition to healthy,
00:24:56 you just didn't want it to just fade.
00:25:00 You didn't want a portion of the game
00:25:01 to just not be as good as it was
00:25:03 at the beginning of the year.
00:25:04 And again, I'm not saying I was worried
00:25:06 about the post-up stuff.
00:25:07 It's like, "Oh, that was automatic.
00:25:10 "I want that back."
00:25:12 So again, it's nice to see it.
00:25:14 But again, it's the timing of it.
00:25:16 You talk about dumb cliches like clicking on all cylinders.
00:25:19 But ultimately, you just wanna be,
00:25:21 what do you want entering the playoffs?
00:25:25 Rested, relaxed, staying sharp,
00:25:29 not frigging fighting, clawing and scratching
00:25:32 and fighting for your life here.
00:25:33 And best thing about it is like,
00:25:36 I still think they're professional enough,
00:25:39 the guys that they're putting out there,
00:25:41 to take the game seriously when they do play,
00:25:43 for the most part.
00:25:44 I mean, you have a couple of lapses here and there
00:25:47 on a few possessions.
00:25:49 I thought Jalen didn't have a good first half
00:25:52 and then turned it on huge in the fourth quarter.
00:25:54 Whatever.
00:25:55 On the whole, they treated this game like a real game,
00:25:58 even though they knew they were playing against crap teams.
00:26:01 So the guys, they kept it sharp here,
00:26:04 which is nice to see after the couple of dog shit efforts
00:26:08 out in Atlanta.
00:26:09 Good bounce backs.
00:26:12 - And they were due to have a couple of really bad games.
00:26:14 If you look at this season in its totality,
00:26:16 I mean, you have to really look hard to find
00:26:20 them having two crappier back-to-back games
00:26:23 than the ones we saw in Atlanta.
00:26:24 It's just that just hasn't been who they are.
00:26:27 And for whatever reason, it just worked out that way.
00:26:30 But the thing about this team,
00:26:32 and Tatum has kind of touched on this a little bit,
00:26:34 and I think there's more to it
00:26:35 than what he's kind of feeding us.
00:26:37 But I still think that this season has been,
00:26:41 for them, this has been a direct reflection
00:26:45 of we're not gonna let what happened
00:26:47 to us last year happen again.
00:26:48 We're not gonna allow ourselves to ease off the gas totally
00:26:52 and just completely allow teams
00:26:56 to do whatever they want to with us,
00:26:58 even though we know it's not gonna have a significant
00:27:00 impact on our playoff seating and things like that.
00:27:02 They play with an edge now, even when they don't have to.
00:27:06 And that's when you start realizing you're dealing
00:27:09 with not a team that wants to go deep in the playoffs.
00:27:11 You're talking about a team that expects
00:27:12 to win a championship.
00:27:14 That's what teams that win a championship do.
00:27:16 They play hard regardless of who the opponent is.
00:27:19 They find ways to win regardless of whether
00:27:22 they're a two-point favorite or a 22-point favorite.
00:27:25 And other than those back-to-back games in Atlanta,
00:27:27 they really haven't had shown any type of track record
00:27:31 of not being that type of team.
00:27:33 And so Tatum definitely takes this stuff personally.
00:27:36 Jalen definitely takes it personally.
00:27:38 And when we started seeing those guys that ended a bench,
00:27:41 they're gonna take it personally because they know
00:27:42 that they're on the outside looking in come playoff time.
00:27:45 Show Joe that you can actually do some things
00:27:47 so that maybe just maybe you might be able to carve out
00:27:49 a couple minutes here and there.
00:27:51 So at this point in the season,
00:27:52 even when you don't see as much Tatum and Brown
00:27:54 and those guys, you're still gonna see, I think,
00:27:57 a pretty good version of this team
00:27:58 because the guys that are replaying
00:27:59 are gonna have something to play for.
00:28:01 - Yeah, no doubt about it.
00:28:04 I left this comment up here 'cause I wanted to pivot to it.
00:28:09 As we said, no one's making a big deal about one bad,
00:28:16 one not great half of a game from a player.
00:28:19 But Brown looked really bad, sloppy, early,
00:28:24 and a lot of people were wondering, is there an injury?
00:28:26 Is this left hand a thing?
00:28:28 Sharad, you're there any indication
00:28:31 he was physically limited in any way tonight?
00:28:33 - Not officially, but the thing about Jalen,
00:28:36 even when he's been healthy,
00:28:37 that left hand has been a little shaky at times.
00:28:39 And the fact that he seemed to kind of right the ship
00:28:41 in the second half makes you think
00:28:42 that maybe it wasn't a healthy
00:28:45 and maybe it was just him just having a bad game.
00:28:47 But I, knowing that at some point this season,
00:28:50 that hand has not been right,
00:28:52 I would like to see him play the fewest games remaining
00:28:57 of their starting five.
00:28:59 Because he's the one guy that you know when he's healthy,
00:29:03 he can get you 15, 20 points just like that.
00:29:06 Tatum has that same ability, but the thing about Tatum,
00:29:10 even when Tatum isn't hitting, he's gonna keep shooting.
00:29:13 Jalen has a tendency from time to time
00:29:15 to kind of go on a show a little bit
00:29:17 if he's not knocking down the shots that he wants to.
00:29:20 I want Jalen to be as healthy as possible
00:29:23 'cause I think he's the--
00:29:23 - But he was also walking around, I felt like.
00:29:26 And again, I couldn't tell if he was just conserving energy,
00:29:28 like I'm not gonna spend too much of it here.
00:29:31 But there was a lot of walking around,
00:29:33 especially on defense, and just, you just looked.
00:29:36 Again, I don't know if it was physical
00:29:39 or just simply like, we know what this is tonight,
00:29:42 you know, and I'm not, I'll turn on.
00:29:45 And again, the fourth quarter probably makes
00:29:46 a lot of people feel a lot better
00:29:47 about anything that you might've freaked out about.
00:29:50 - You turned it up.
00:29:51 - Over watching the first half,
00:29:52 'cause you're like, oh, that gear was there,
00:29:54 which makes me believe he was just kind of coasting
00:29:57 rather than hurt, but I'm not sure.
00:29:59 - Yeah, go ahead, Jimmy, you had it.
00:30:01 - Well, he's hit his games, he's hit the minimum games
00:30:04 that he needs to hit to qualify for like awards, right?
00:30:07 He's at 66.
00:30:08 So it makes no sense to play this game
00:30:11 if you have any amount of pain going on anywhere.
00:30:16 This game means nothing.
00:30:17 Thunder aren't playing SGA,
00:30:19 and it means more to them standings wise
00:30:22 than it means to the Celtics.
00:30:23 It means absolutely nothing to the Celtics.
00:30:25 So if there's no, it makes no sense for Jayden Brown
00:30:28 to play through pain right now.
00:30:29 So I can't imagine that that's what it was.
00:30:32 I think maybe he just had an off night.
00:30:33 Maybe he's thinking about it a little bit.
00:30:34 Maybe there's just some general soreness
00:30:36 and he's favoring it, but John, you're muted again.
00:30:39 I can't hear you.
00:30:40 - Just a lot of people keep saying in the comment,
00:30:42 he's holding his hip, he's favoring things,
00:30:44 he's, you know, walking.
00:30:44 - Sure, I mean, he could be banged up, general soreness.
00:30:47 It's a long season, but again, like don't force it.
00:30:49 I do think Sherrod's right that, you know,
00:30:52 you're gonna see some guys really start
00:30:53 to take some time off here.
00:30:55 I mean, who's gonna even make that trip to
00:30:57 that one last-
00:30:59 - Milwaukee.
00:31:00 - Who's gonna even make that trip?
00:31:01 Why even get on the flight?
00:31:03 Why even risk the plane going down?
00:31:05 Like don't even get on the flight.
00:31:07 They should just cancel the game.
00:31:09 You know what I mean?
00:31:11 Like this means nothing.
00:31:13 - That just got really morbid, Jimmy.
00:31:15 - Well, it's like, don't risk it.
00:31:16 Just go, stay, work out here.
00:31:18 - These guys just go down.
00:31:19 - There's no reason to mess your sleep up,
00:31:21 you know, like all that stuff.
00:31:22 You gotta sleep in a hotel, fly back.
00:31:24 Don't even send them.
00:31:25 They have six out of their next seven games are home.
00:31:28 Just keep it here.
00:31:28 Then you've got your two home games to start the playoffs.
00:31:32 Chill.
00:31:33 - It makes sense.
00:31:34 - Kind of earned it.
00:31:35 You guys kind of earned that, right?
00:31:36 - Yeah, but you know what?
00:31:38 Here's the thing though, and I think this is why
00:31:40 you'll still see those guys play a little bit,
00:31:42 even if they don't play their usual minutes.
00:31:44 I keep coming back to Tatum's comments earlier this year,
00:31:48 maybe it was in the off season,
00:31:49 about wanting to be there for fans.
00:31:51 Fans come to see them play, blah, blah, blah, yada, yada.
00:31:54 They're gonna play.
00:31:56 They just may not play as many minutes,
00:31:57 but they're gonna play at least, there's what,
00:32:00 six games left?
00:32:01 I anticipate there'll be at least half of them.
00:32:04 - Yeah, listen, I mean, you can't take two weeks off
00:32:07 for the playoffs.
00:32:08 I get it, but the point is, ease into it, right?
00:32:11 I mean, these guys don't need to go balls up.
00:32:13 They don't need to play through pain right now.
00:32:15 - Right. - You know what I mean?
00:32:16 - I would take baths, not showers,
00:32:18 because you can slip in the shower, you know?
00:32:21 Like a lot of bad shit can happen.
00:32:23 - Thank you. - You know?
00:32:24 Like, it's like--
00:32:26 - I would blend all your food, blend it up, drink it,
00:32:29 with your straw. - Drink your food for sure.
00:32:31 - I don't want anyone choking.
00:32:32 I don't want anything to go wrong.
00:32:34 - Just smoothie diet the rest of the way.
00:32:37 - Players sticking a toe into the toe.
00:32:39 Ooh, that's too hot, it's too hot.
00:32:41 - Yeah. - I can't take a shower.
00:32:43 Use only plastic wear.
00:32:44 Remove, by all means, remove all vases from your house.
00:32:48 You know, like, 'cause those shit, that shit falls.
00:32:51 - No stairs, no stairs. - And you break it, you know?
00:32:54 - Yep.
00:32:55 Stay away from, what would Marcus Smart do?
00:32:59 Stay away from like pictures?
00:33:01 - No vases. - Pictures of him
00:33:01 punching anything. - No vases, no vases.
00:33:04 - Nothing, I want like, I want the best professional drivers
00:33:09 chauffeuring these guys around for the next two weeks.
00:33:11 I don't want them sitting in traffic even, nothing.
00:33:14 - Yeah, if I'm gonna sit the guys,
00:33:15 I'm gonna sit them against Portland.
00:33:17 I'm gonna sit them against Charlotte.
00:33:18 I'm gonna sit them against Washington.
00:33:20 - Yeah, no watering your plants.
00:33:22 We don't want anything to burst,
00:33:24 as somebody in the comments also said.
00:33:25 - Yikes, you wanna talk about dark.
00:33:27 - Yeah, geez, dude. - Damn.
00:33:30 See, this is the portal that you've opened, Jimmy.
00:33:33 I'm blaming you for this. - This is where everyone's
00:33:35 heads are going. - Damn, Jimmy.
00:33:37 - Yeah, tubs can be dangerous too, John.
00:33:41 - Tubs can be dangerous. - They can.
00:33:43 All right, so we talked about Jalen Brown in the hand.
00:33:48 Here's producer boy in three, two, one.
00:33:53 - Yeah, I think I got like a sprain or like a strain.
00:33:58 - What? - A ligament in my hand.
00:34:00 - Don't doctors tell you? - I think it's fine.
00:34:03 - You think it's fine? - Something I'm not concerned
00:34:05 with going forward, but it would bother me.
00:34:08 It bothered me a little bit tonight,
00:34:09 but part of it is working through it, playing through it,
00:34:13 'cause that gives you a little bit more information
00:34:15 towards down the line if things were to get any worse,
00:34:19 but I think it's nothing to be concerned about.
00:34:21 - I'm concerned. - So let me ask you this.
00:34:25 - I'm concerned. - What does he wear?
00:34:27 - Like a tie? - Everything that he said,
00:34:30 everything that he said was concerning, everything,
00:34:33 every single word of it, all of it.
00:34:35 And so this is where I can't, I don't know if it's,
00:34:38 I'm not gonna say being dramatic,
00:34:39 but you know, sometimes players just say stuff
00:34:42 that doesn't actually jive with what's really going on.
00:34:46 Like Holiday, for example, said it went numb.
00:34:50 And it's like, that actually probably wasn't the right way
00:34:52 to describe what had happened.
00:34:53 He had sprained his shoulder.
00:34:54 It wasn't a nerve thing or a numb thing,
00:34:56 but that's the word he used.
00:34:58 What? - Can you play it
00:34:59 one more time? - Yeah.
00:35:01 But this was like, this was a nightmare.
00:35:03 Like, I think it's a sprain or a strain.
00:35:07 - Or ligaments. - I think it's fine,
00:35:08 but ligaments, damage, and maybe I'll just play through it
00:35:12 just to see how it is.
00:35:14 And if it gets worse, then we'll deal with it then.
00:35:16 Oh, here we go again.
00:35:17 I said, here we go again.
00:35:21 - Producer boy. - Producer boy.
00:35:22 - Drake. - I got like a sprain
00:35:24 or like a strain on a ligament in my hand,
00:35:28 but I think it's fine.
00:35:31 You know, it's something I'm not concerned with going forward
00:35:34 but it would bother with me.
00:35:36 It bothered me a little bit tonight,
00:35:37 but part of it is, you know, working through it,
00:35:40 playing through it,
00:35:41 'cause that gives you a little bit more information
00:35:43 towards down the line if, you know,
00:35:45 things were to get any worse,
00:35:47 but I think it's nothing to be concerned about.
00:35:49 - Then don't mention it.
00:35:53 - Then say nothing.
00:35:54 - Yeah, don't mention it.
00:35:55 Don't get us- - What is that?
00:35:56 Is that like a Tron outfit or like-
00:35:59 - I don't know.
00:36:01 Transformers meets, you know,
00:36:04 Wakanda, I don't know. - I think honestly,
00:36:06 I'm gonna go here.
00:36:08 I'm gonna say- - Tire.
00:36:10 - It's nothing except I-
00:36:15 - John, you can't do it, John.
00:36:18 You know you can't do it because you are concerned.
00:36:20 - We need Jalen to walk around with like fully padded hands.
00:36:22 - No, no, no, I think Jalen is like saying more than it is,
00:36:27 not less than it is.
00:36:28 That's what I believe.
00:36:30 - Okay.
00:36:31 I can buy that, but I'm concerned.
00:36:33 I'm not gonna lie. - He's obviously seen
00:36:35 a doctor.
00:36:35 A doctor's obviously told him- - I choose to believe that too.
00:36:37 - Strain or sprain or not.
00:36:39 There's no ambiguity about it being one thing or another.
00:36:43 I think he's probably seen a doctor and he said, "It's fine."
00:36:46 And then he's saying, "Well, it hurts,
00:36:48 so it must be a strain or a sprain."
00:36:50 That's where I'm at.
00:36:51 I'm there.
00:36:53 I've arrived at that.
00:36:54 How do we feel?
00:36:56 - I choose to believe that too.
00:36:58 'Cause that's gonna help me get through tomorrow
00:37:02 and the next couple of days, I think.
00:37:03 - I'll get there once I get something a little bit stronger
00:37:07 than this Dr. Pepper.
00:37:08 Then I'll get there.
00:37:11 For now.
00:37:12 - I like Dr. Pepper.
00:37:13 - Yeah.
00:37:14 - This is disturbing to me.
00:37:16 This is really disturbing to me.
00:37:18 Because even if it's minor,
00:37:20 it's at least it's significant enough
00:37:22 to where he's talking about it.
00:37:25 And it's bothering him and it bothered him tonight.
00:37:28 And it's just like, if we know this is going to bother you
00:37:32 or has the potential to bother you,
00:37:34 how about we just like not play you
00:37:35 so that we can avoid the potential of it bothering you
00:37:38 in the regular season when these games
00:37:40 at this point don't matter.
00:37:42 And just let's deal with this in the playoffs
00:37:44 when the games do matter.
00:37:45 - Yeah.
00:37:47 Did he say?
00:37:48 Yeah, we're gonna talk about that.
00:37:52 - We're gonna go there, are we?
00:37:53 We're gonna go there.
00:37:54 We're gonna go there.
00:37:55 Cool.
00:37:56 I think he said ligament.
00:37:58 - I don't know.
00:38:00 - No, he said ligament.
00:38:01 - He said ligament.
00:38:02 - I think he said ligament.
00:38:03 - All right, well, some people aren't trusting JB
00:38:05 that he's all right.
00:38:06 I'm not trusting him that it's a sprain or a strain.
00:38:11 - I'm uncomfortable right now
00:38:13 with his status going to the playoffs right now.
00:38:17 I think he'll be good.
00:38:18 But my concern is that-
00:38:20 - Which hand is it?
00:38:22 - Or four, where it's gonna bother him
00:38:25 and it's gonna be a problem.
00:38:26 He may be able to play 30, 35 minutes with it,
00:38:29 but there are gonna be moments
00:38:30 where he's going to do something bad
00:38:33 and it won't because he has a bad handle,
00:38:36 because his damn arm hurts, his wrist hurts.
00:38:39 That's disturbing.
00:38:40 - You're talking right or left?
00:38:41 It's his left, right?
00:38:42 - It's his left, yes.
00:38:43 - He never, nothing's gonna change.
00:38:45 He never had a left.
00:38:48 - The left sets up the right, Jimmy.
00:38:50 - I'm just kidding.
00:38:51 - 'Cause you know-
00:38:52 - One hand washes the other, Jimmy.
00:38:53 - Being a jerk.
00:38:54 - I know.
00:38:55 - Right.
00:38:56 Our producer boy wanna be.
00:38:59 - I love this.
00:39:00 By the way-
00:39:00 - Just when he discovered his left hand,
00:39:02 now it gets freaking-
00:39:03 - The he'll be fine comments.
00:39:05 I am in the camp that I actually think it's overblown,
00:39:08 but we really don't know.
00:39:10 We really don't know.
00:39:11 I love people just kind of wish casting,
00:39:14 like it'll be fine.
00:39:15 We don't know.
00:39:16 - And I hope they're right.
00:39:17 I hope that, God, they're right.
00:39:19 I really do, because Jaylen has had such a great season
00:39:21 that you would hate for something like this
00:39:24 to just tarnish what has been a really good season for him.
00:39:27 But the fact that he put it out there, you know-
00:39:31 - Where are we on this?
00:39:33 - Oh boy.
00:39:34 - Orange, I'm orange.
00:39:36 - Wow, I'm yellow.
00:39:37 I'm yellow, I just think it's Jaylen talking.
00:39:42 - Yeah.
00:39:43 I'm between the yellow and the,
00:39:45 we have two greens that look very similar.
00:39:47 - Which are you, Shira?
00:39:48 You like the true orange or you like the burnt-
00:39:50 - No, there's a yellow, then there's the orange,
00:39:53 then there's the deep orange.
00:39:54 I'm like in that, the orange.
00:39:56 - Okay, okay.
00:39:57 - A little bit beyond the midway point.
00:39:59 - Slightly above the midway point, guys.
00:40:00 - Yeah, yeah.
00:40:01 - Yeah.
00:40:02 - I'm on the other side of that.
00:40:03 - I don't believe it.
00:40:07 - I hope you're right, Jon.
00:40:08 - I don't believe it.
00:40:11 - I hope you are in Jon Stradamus mode right now.
00:40:13 - Do you believe that J.J. McCarthy
00:40:14 is gonna get drafted by the Patriots
00:40:15 or do you choose not to believe that too?
00:40:17 - Well, that's happening.
00:40:18 - Who says that?
00:40:19 - A lot of people think that.
00:40:20 - It's gonna happen.
00:40:23 - Everybody is trying desperately to pretend
00:40:25 Drake May isn't obviously the second best quarterback
00:40:28 right now in hopes that he falls to them.
00:40:32 That's what I believe.
00:40:33 I think everybody wants, I think the Patriots-
00:40:35 - You think everyone wants Drake,
00:40:37 you think that the-
00:40:38 - Yes.
00:40:39 - Drake May is better.
00:40:39 - That the Patriots want Drake May over Daniels?
00:40:40 - I think Drake May, I think the Patriots want Drake May.
00:40:43 I think they're hoping Washington takes Daniels.
00:40:45 I think they've always wanted May.
00:40:47 I think half the disinformation about May
00:40:50 or whatever is coming from Teams Three
00:40:52 or hoping to get to three, four, five.
00:40:54 Like he's not even that good.
00:40:55 I'll trade up for him.
00:40:57 You don't even want him.
00:40:58 Everyone's just trying to move up in there
00:40:59 and hope to get him.
00:41:00 - So J.J. McCarthy is just being played right now?
00:41:02 He's just-
00:41:03 - Yes, he is.
00:41:04 - J.J. McCarthy might be-
00:41:05 - He's just coming in the water?
00:41:05 - Might be Levis.
00:41:06 J.J. McCarthy might go like 19 or 20.
00:41:09 - No, I saw a mock day that had him going second.
00:41:14 - Nevermind.
00:41:17 Please don't tell me who did that.
00:41:19 - Because it's-
00:41:20 - It was Sharp.
00:41:21 Sharp's legit too.
00:41:23 - It's content season.
00:41:25 Okay, let me put my producer hat on.
00:41:27 I gotta talk about-
00:41:28 - Producer man.
00:41:29 - I gotta talk about this shit for another month, okay?
00:41:33 - There's a line between-
00:41:34 - So Jimmy, producer man is in a building now.
00:41:36 Let's just-
00:41:36 - There's a line between-
00:41:37 - I've had-
00:41:38 - John has become producer man.
00:41:39 - I've had Daniels Two and May Three
00:41:41 in every mock for the last three weeks.
00:41:43 I gotta fricking do something.
00:41:44 Let's just throw McCarthy Two
00:41:46 and just light this shit on fire
00:41:48 and see what people say.
00:41:49 That's how it goes.
00:41:50 You know, like it just-
00:41:52 - But you want people to trust your opinion.
00:41:56 - You want them to click.
00:41:57 - You want them to throw shit at the wall.
00:41:58 - You want to start the content.
00:42:00 - For that type of content, you want clicks.
00:42:03 - And then the aggregation-
00:42:03 - I used to vote Sherrod's-
00:42:05 - Could McCarthy go second?
00:42:07 One analyst seems to think so in his latest mock
00:42:10 and then everybody talks about it.
00:42:12 - No, I get it.
00:42:14 But I mean, shoot, you still wanna like,
00:42:16 you want people to respect your pick.
00:42:18 If you have JG McCarthy going second,
00:42:19 you'd be like, this guy, what's this guy?
00:42:20 Now we had JG McCarthy going second.
00:42:22 He went 14th.
00:42:23 Anyways, I think McCarthy's gonna end up being,
00:42:27 I think people are obsessed with,
00:42:29 not that this is new, but it's a quarterback run.
00:42:33 Like teams are obsessed with finding the next guy.
00:42:36 And if McCarthy interviews well,
00:42:38 they're gonna fall in love.
00:42:39 And apparently that's what he's doing.
00:42:41 - All right, well, we're gonna tell you,
00:42:43 speaking of falling in love,
00:42:46 everybody here seems to desperately want
00:42:48 You Got Tanguayed to win.
00:42:49 I'm not sure what the voting looks like right now.
00:42:51 - Really?
00:42:52 - I did not see that one coming.
00:42:54 - What happened?
00:42:55 - I have no idea.
00:42:56 - We lost it?
00:42:57 We put it back on the stage.
00:42:59 I think this is a clip, Amit, maybe of You Got Tanguayed.
00:43:03 I have two clips in here.
00:43:05 This might be the-
00:43:06 - No, no, no, no.
00:43:06 The other one might be, that one looks like it's-
00:43:09 - Oh, that one's third center.
00:43:10 - Yeah, it's third center, yeah.
00:43:12 - We don't have it, Amit.
00:43:13 We don't have it.
00:43:14 We don't have Tanguayed right now.
00:43:15 - I don't think we can do it.
00:43:16 I don't think we could do it.
00:43:17 - Oh, I know why we can't do Tanguayed.
00:43:20 I know.
00:43:21 It's old ad reads, can't do it.
00:43:24 Can't do Tanguayed, so we can't show the example,
00:43:27 which is too bad.
00:43:28 - Yeah, well.
00:43:29 - Too bad.
00:43:30 So is-
00:43:31 - Tanguayed got Tanguayed.
00:43:33 - Did third center crush BlamePie?
00:43:35 Is that what happened?
00:43:36 - I actually didn't see the results.
00:43:38 I have a feeling it probably did,
00:43:39 'cause BlamePie shouldn't have-
00:43:41 BlamePie shouldn't have beaten FartsMyDog,
00:43:43 to be completely honest, but it's not good.
00:43:45 - I don't know how it did either.
00:43:47 - I don't either.
00:43:47 - Apparently it was like three votes difference.
00:43:49 - Right.
00:43:50 - Oh, geez.
00:43:51 Damn.
00:43:52 - But, I don't know.
00:43:53 We've had some good BlamePies, I guess, maybe.
00:43:55 - Tight one, tight one.
00:43:56 Yeah, so anyway, we're waiting on Bobby,
00:44:00 perhaps Joe Sway, to join us in a little bit.
00:44:03 JB talked, Porzingis is talking now,
00:44:07 and we'll hear from those guys and continue on here.
00:44:11 One thing I did wanna move into,
00:44:14 a little interesting development tonight in the NBA.
00:44:18 The Pacers have fallen into play-in territory,
00:44:22 the seventh seed, after a loss to the Nets.
00:44:26 Now they are in play.
00:44:28 They are in play among the teams
00:44:31 that the Celtics could potentially play in that first round.
00:44:35 I don't know.
00:44:38 They've been not good.
00:44:40 They're a little banged up as well.
00:44:44 They've been really wildly inconsistent.
00:44:46 And again, when I say it's percentage points difference,
00:44:49 they're in a virtual tie with the Heat for six.
00:44:52 But them staying there is possible here, for sure.
00:44:56 Throw them into the mix.
00:44:57 You haven't talked about them.
00:44:58 Everybody's had their, given their feelings on Miami,
00:45:01 on Philly, as possible opponents,
00:45:05 and how we feel about that.
00:45:06 Rank Indiana among those three, in terms of how you feel.
00:45:10 - Ooh.
00:45:13 I would probably put them near the back.
00:45:15 Near the back. - What does that mean?
00:45:17 - I think those other teams are a little bit more,
00:45:20 bigger threats. - You're less worried
00:45:21 about Indiana.
00:45:22 - I am. - I'm opposite.
00:45:22 I'm opposite that, Sherrod.
00:45:24 I'm opposite that.
00:45:25 - Why?
00:45:27 - I think Indiana's style of play, at least before,
00:45:31 I mean, let's be honest.
00:45:32 The Indiana team has fallen off a bit.
00:45:34 Halliburton's been in and out of the lineup with injuries.
00:45:37 But I think Indiana's style of play,
00:45:40 I mean, they're, you know,
00:45:42 like, obviously very offensive focused,
00:45:44 and similar to the Hawks in that sense.
00:45:46 So if you're scared of the Hawks, which I think,
00:45:49 not scared, but if you'd rather not play the Hawks,
00:45:51 I think you gotta treat Indy similarly,
00:45:53 because they wanna push the pace.
00:45:54 They wanna run and gun offense.
00:45:56 They wanna get into a shootout with you.
00:45:58 They don't wanna play defense,
00:45:59 but they wanna shoot, dance around.
00:46:02 You know, the Halliburton wants to dish out 20 assists.
00:46:05 And I think if the Celtics fall into that trap,
00:46:07 fall into the trap of trying to,
00:46:10 now, outscore the opponent,
00:46:11 instead of just playing your game,
00:46:12 playing strong defense,
00:46:14 and winning the way you've been winning,
00:46:16 then I think Indiana could find themselves,
00:46:18 you know, taking a couple games from you.
00:46:20 That's what I'm saying.
00:46:22 - Pacers have had some success with the Bucs.
00:46:24 It'd be interesting if they knock them out
00:46:26 in a potential 2-7, which is in play as well.
00:46:28 We'll get back to this in a little bit.
00:46:30 We got Bobby jumping in from the garden,
00:46:33 out of the locker room here.
00:46:35 Yeah, I am worried about crash knee Smith.
00:46:37 Bobby, tell us what you know.
00:46:39 - Yeah, a lot of talk tonight about that zone,
00:46:43 that level they got into in the fourth quarter here
00:46:45 to separate themselves.
00:46:46 It was amazing to look up after a blur of a fourth quarter
00:46:50 and see them up 35 in a game that was pretty close.
00:46:52 Felt like they were in danger at different points.
00:46:56 Yeah, they looked like they could have been in danger
00:46:58 at different points,
00:46:59 but they did keep the Thunder at arm's length, as you said,
00:47:02 and then separated in a big way late.
00:47:04 I know no Shea, I know no Jalen,
00:47:07 but this Thunder team still entered this game dangerous,
00:47:12 obviously because the Celtics have let down
00:47:13 at different points against opponents like this
00:47:16 with this kind of injury status,
00:47:18 but they handled them the night pretty easily.
00:47:22 And I think this is a contrast of styles
00:47:25 that had the potential to bother Boston.
00:47:26 I know Joe talked about, even on the broadcast,
00:47:29 them getting back cut often,
00:47:30 following a ton in this game,
00:47:33 but I feel like they punched back with physicality.
00:47:35 The offensive rebounding in this game,
00:47:37 overwhelming 27 second chance points,
00:47:41 the putback of the season by Porzingis through Holmgren
00:47:44 in that first half,
00:47:46 and then you have the three point shooting advantage
00:47:48 that they obviously have here,
00:47:49 as well as just an overall physicality advantage.
00:47:54 And the passing tonight, great as well.
00:47:56 The Celtics just kept finding different ways
00:47:58 to separate themselves
00:48:00 from what's obviously a pretty good Thunder team,
00:48:02 even without Shea and Jalen.
00:48:04 I still think they had the potential
00:48:06 to come into this game and bother,
00:48:07 maybe even beat the Celtics in a letdown,
00:48:10 but Boston ended up throttling them,
00:48:13 handling Holmgren, who had no real impact on this game,
00:48:18 and the bench, again, great.
00:48:20 It's good stuff from Hauser, good stuff from Pritchard.
00:48:23 Horford really credited Pritchard's second half stretch
00:48:27 with getting the Celtics going,
00:48:29 and they had to play fast tonight.
00:48:30 They had to keep up with the Thunder.
00:48:32 I'd credit that to some of the sloppiness,
00:48:34 but once they tightened up the turnovers
00:48:35 in the second half, as Joe said,
00:48:37 it was just on to the races.
00:48:39 And I was pretty impressed by this win.
00:48:41 Not blown away, not earth shattering by any means,
00:48:44 but this is one of the best teams in the NBA.
00:48:46 You went out and handled pretty easily tonight.
00:48:48 - Yeah, stat of the night,
00:48:53 Gordon Hayward, minus 28 in 18 minutes.
00:48:55 I didn't even, I don't even remember him playing.
00:48:59 - Lens and-
00:49:00 - I just pretty shocked.
00:49:01 - The only thing I-
00:49:01 - I don't know how that's going.
00:49:02 - Yeah, the only thing I remember him being out there
00:49:05 was when Porzingis realized that he was guarding him,
00:49:07 and he just shot up for him without jumping.
00:49:09 That was my last thing I remember Gordon Hayward tonight.
00:49:11 - This was a big night for Porzingis, wasn't it?
00:49:13 It felt like this was the first night
00:49:15 where he got back to being that first half,
00:49:17 early season Porzingis.
00:49:19 He did a little bit in the-
00:49:20 - And the automatic Porzingis, the automatic post.
00:49:24 Yeah.
00:49:25 - Yeah, the little short shot off glass early.
00:49:29 The five blocks.
00:49:30 And Jalen had some interesting comments after the game.
00:49:32 I think we've talked a little bit about how
00:49:35 this team isn't very critical on each other
00:49:38 or tough on each other.
00:49:39 The open accountability that we saw in 2022.
00:49:42 Jalen had some comments after this game about how,
00:49:47 when Porzingis isn't flopping around,
00:49:49 when he's really locked in on defense,
00:49:52 that's when we're unbeatable.
00:49:55 So he challenged Porzingis after this game
00:49:58 to be more consistent defensively,
00:49:59 to be the kind of defender that he can be.
00:50:02 'Cause we saw in that Atlanta miniseries especially,
00:50:05 he was not very good in those games.
00:50:08 And he said to me, he's still ramping up back to 100%
00:50:11 to some degree off the last injury.
00:50:13 He's trying to get there by the playoffs.
00:50:15 But Brown, in one of a rare instances this season,
00:50:19 I thought, called on his teammate to raise his level,
00:50:23 to be this kind of player consistently.
00:50:27 And he said specifically, when this is what KP is,
00:50:30 we'll rarely lose, the less we'll lose.
00:50:34 So I love that.
00:50:37 - Let's ask your opinion here on Brown.
00:50:41 His post-game comments were kind of weird
00:50:45 and cryptic about the hand, maybe being a sprain,
00:50:48 maybe being a strain.
00:50:50 I think I'll be fine, but who knows,
00:50:51 I'll play through it and see how it goes.
00:50:53 - As long as it's not bursting.
00:50:55 - No, it might've burst.
00:50:59 Might've burst, it's a clean tear.
00:51:00 - Which means it's on.
00:51:02 - I gave my take, I wanna hear yours.
00:51:05 We gave ours earlier, let's hear yours.
00:51:07 - Definitely left that good ball at the end of my points.
00:51:11 Couldn't get there as often tonight.
00:51:12 And that left hand's been a strength of his this year,
00:51:14 finishing around the basket.
00:51:17 So obvious that it impacted him at points in this game,
00:51:20 and he said as such.
00:51:22 So it's something to keep an eye on.
00:51:24 I don't get the management of it at this point.
00:51:28 If it is bothering him, why is he playing?
00:51:30 I think that's a valid point by a lot of people
00:51:32 who've tweeted at me and asked that.
00:51:34 And Joe obviously provided zero insight on it.
00:51:39 - Well, my take is that there's medically
00:51:41 nothing wrong with him.
00:51:42 The doctors told him that, the team told him that,
00:51:45 the team told him you're fine to play.
00:51:47 Something's, he doesn't love something that's going on,
00:51:50 so he's talking about it being maybe a sprain
00:51:53 and maybe a strain when it's probably neither.
00:51:55 And it doesn't mean it's not bothering him.
00:52:00 I just don't think it's a major injury.
00:52:02 He's not playing if it's a major injury.
00:52:04 They're not idiots.
00:52:06 They're not idiots.
00:52:07 They're not idiots.
00:52:08 They're not putting him out there.
00:52:09 If he's--
00:52:10 - A meaningless game.
00:52:12 - If he doesn't win.
00:52:12 - He's in it to crush. - It's a meaningless game.
00:52:14 OKC doesn't even have their stars in the damn game.
00:52:17 So even if you do beat them, it's like, okay,
00:52:20 well, what's it mean?
00:52:21 It's not really a test against the best in that situation.
00:52:25 Yeah, they blew him out, but he's already hit his minimum
00:52:29 to qualify for the awards.
00:52:31 There's no real reason to play this game.
00:52:33 I would have been fine if he didn't play.
00:52:35 I'd rather not play this game.
00:52:37 - This smacks of I'm gonna do my own research.
00:52:41 The doctor said one thing,
00:52:42 but I'm gonna do my own research here.
00:52:44 - Everyone should do their own research.
00:52:46 - Why would he do that?
00:52:48 - Medically, 'cause he's kind of a quack that way,
00:52:50 but medically speaking,
00:52:52 I'm gonna go do my own research.
00:52:54 That's what it smacks of to me, but that's--
00:52:57 - I don't know, he did take a little bit of a spill
00:52:59 in that Pelicans game in the backcourt
00:53:00 and seemed aggravated on that play.
00:53:03 So I think there is something there,
00:53:04 but you're right, John, it's probably not--
00:53:06 - But why play through it?
00:53:07 - 'Cause like John said,
00:53:10 it's probably not something you need to sit out for.
00:53:12 So-- - All right then.
00:53:13 - Go ahead and play. - That's not a concern.
00:53:16 - I don't think it is. - I don't think it's an issue.
00:53:18 They're not letting him play if it's an issue.
00:53:19 I'm sure it's bothering him a little,
00:53:21 but I don't think they let him play if it's an issue.
00:53:23 - Done.
00:53:24 Next.
00:53:25 - Done.
00:53:26 So it's no excuse.
00:53:27 I mean, he played poorly first half.
00:53:30 - He had a good fourth quarter,
00:53:31 but I think he was a little sluggish early on.
00:53:34 Defensively-- - Well, John said it,
00:53:36 this Thunder team bothers you athletically.
00:53:38 - Yeah. - The back cuts,
00:53:41 the speed on transition,
00:53:44 Giddy getting to the rim, blowing by guys,
00:53:46 all that happened in the first half.
00:53:48 So it puts pressure on you.
00:53:50 It definitely does.
00:53:51 And I'm just so intrigued by this team.
00:53:54 Are they a first round exit?
00:53:56 Are they a finals team?
00:53:58 I've really never seen,
00:53:59 like the only comparison I can think of
00:54:01 is that 2012 Thunder team.
00:54:03 And they had much more high, high-end talent
00:54:05 between three players.
00:54:07 But this is similar.
00:54:09 We have an MVP candidate.
00:54:10 We have all of this young talent
00:54:12 and a bunch of unsung guys who can produce.
00:54:15 And they're in a loaded conference.
00:54:18 So it's tough to tell what their ceiling is gonna be.
00:54:19 But there was some conversation tonight.
00:54:22 This could be the finals.
00:54:23 I wouldn't put it out of question.
00:54:25 And they handled the Celtics healthy last time around.
00:54:27 So I'm putting some stock in this victory.
00:54:30 I like this.
00:54:31 I like how they went out and just handled this team
00:54:33 that they could see down the line.
00:54:35 I'm not banking on it,
00:54:36 but who knows how things go with injuries out West
00:54:38 and just a gauntlet.
00:54:41 - I think they deserve to have some respect on their name.
00:54:44 - Yeah. - They deserve respect.
00:54:45 We talked about on Monday night, Bobby,
00:54:46 that they're not just SGA.
00:54:49 They've got a talented roster around their star player.
00:54:53 And that's obviously helping him turn into the MVP
00:54:57 caliber player that he's become this season.
00:54:59 But they don't get a lot of credit.
00:55:00 And tonight, again, I think they competed for three quarters
00:55:05 as best they could, but without, not just SGA,
00:55:08 but who's the other one out there?
00:55:10 Jalen. - Jalen Williams.
00:55:13 - Yeah, Jalen Williams.
00:55:15 Perfect example of a really unheralded supporting player
00:55:20 on this team that the average NBA fan
00:55:22 or the casual fan probably doesn't really know
00:55:25 anything about, right?
00:55:26 So that's kind of what this OKC team is.
00:55:28 So last year they came as a complete surprise,
00:55:31 just the way they competed
00:55:34 and they made things difficult.
00:55:35 But I think we all didn't expect the jump
00:55:38 they took this year.
00:55:39 So that's probably where the bit of the disconnect is.
00:55:42 But if you sleep on them,
00:55:44 if you're a team in the Western Conference,
00:55:46 you absolutely cannot sleep on this team
00:55:48 'cause they will beat you if you do that.
00:55:50 So there's only a couple of things.
00:55:52 I think Denver over them,
00:55:54 but them against Minnesota, I think it's a toss up.
00:55:57 - Yeah, and we drafted the NBA last night on Dome Theory.
00:56:03 Why, I don't know, but he went 26.
00:56:06 - Yeah.
00:56:06 Zachary, thank you for purchasing the merch, by the way.
00:56:10 I just want to tell everybody out here, go get your merch.
00:56:13 We have a merch store, Garden Report merch.
00:56:16 Go get some.
00:56:17 - Toss it up there, producer boy.
00:56:18 Toss up our merch, there you go.
00:56:20 - Merch it up, there it is.
00:56:22 Why isn't my picture up there?
00:56:24 Why is it Tang Wei?
00:56:26 I want it to be me.
00:56:27 - Well, there's not enough Garden Report swag.
00:56:29 - Jimmy probably.
00:56:30 - There's not enough Garden Report swag.
00:56:32 It's the Garden Report show.
00:56:33 - Should have had Callahan on tonight.
00:56:35 He covered the game here.
00:56:37 - Yeah.
00:56:38 - Is anybody buying a shirt with Jeff's face on it?
00:56:41 - Yes.
00:56:42 - That's funny.
00:56:43 - Callahan switches over around this time to basketball.
00:56:47 Anyway, let you guys know, prize picks.
00:56:50 Another thing we want to talk about here

00:56:57 easiest and most exciting way to play DFS.
00:57:01 All you got to do is what, Jimmy?
00:57:03 More or less. - More or less.
00:57:05 - That's it.
00:57:06 That's it, you pick.
00:57:06 - Are you an uppercut?
00:57:08 - I'm a four-year-old.
00:57:09 - I'm a four-year-old.
00:57:10 - Are you an uppercut?
00:57:12 - Guess who I picked more on tonight?
00:57:15 - Who?
00:57:16 - Derek White.
00:57:17 - Oh, Bob.
00:57:18 - Sure, Oscar.
00:57:22 This might've been his worst game of the year offensively.
00:57:25 - Anyway, it's all you got to do here.
00:57:28 You go in there, two to six stat projections,
00:57:31 pick more or less on any stat projection put out there
00:57:35 by a particular player, and that's it,
00:57:38 and watch the winnings roll in.
00:57:40 Get moving on it as quickly as possible
00:57:43 and get involved with prize picks.

00:57:52 - I played last night.
00:57:53 I did lose, but it was fun.
00:57:55 Even when you lose, it's something to keep an eye on.
00:57:57 I mean, you don't want to lose, but.
00:57:59 - It's fun.
00:58:00 It's fun.
00:58:00 - I picked less.
00:58:01 - You're gonna win, you're gonna lose.
00:58:03 - He had more.
00:58:04 I picked less points.
00:58:05 I picked more points for Jimmy Butler.
00:58:07 He had less.
00:58:08 I thought Jimmy Butler was gonna play well last night
00:58:10 against the Knicks.
00:58:12 - You can't all go 60 and 16 like the Celtics.
00:58:17 You're gonna lose.
00:58:18 - You can.
00:58:19 - I'm riding my, I have won.
00:58:21 I won 50 bucks on a $5 bet or $5 play,
00:58:25 and still riding that.
00:58:29 - Excellent.
00:58:30 So moving on here, we're gonna bring Joe Sway on.
00:58:33 Joe Sway, what's up, buddy?
00:58:35 - What's up, guys?
00:58:36 - What's up, Sway?
00:58:37 - What's up, dude?
00:58:38 - Hey, good luck with that, you know, Jimmy.
00:58:42 It gets better, you know, playing that stuff,
00:58:44 playing that game.
00:58:45 - Yeah, just playing.
00:58:46 - Anyway, Joe Sway, what's your top takeaway?
00:58:49 - Chris Stapps, man.
00:58:51 Chris Stapps for Zingas, and I love the way he worded it
00:58:53 when speaking to us.
00:58:54 It was ramping up for a strong regular season finish
00:58:58 'cause let's face it, guys,
00:59:00 you don't know nothing but the playoffs, man,
00:59:01 and I love that because you know he's excited about it.
00:59:04 I don't think anyone on this Celtics team
00:59:05 has had more fun this season than Chris Stapps for Zingas,
00:59:08 and I think, you know, when you see what he's doing
00:59:10 out there on the floor, like for Celtics fans,
00:59:14 for guys like us covering the team,
00:59:16 I mean, there's a little extra excitement here, right?
00:59:18 I mean, clearly this is a player
00:59:19 that Celtics obviously didn't have last year,
00:59:21 but I think he's the biggest reason why they're so,
00:59:24 or one of the biggest reasons why they've been so dominant,
00:59:27 especially in the Eastern Conference,
00:59:28 and I think that carries over throughout the playoffs,
00:59:31 obviously barring any injuries,
00:59:32 but this is exactly what you wanna see.
00:59:34 I mean, these past four or five games, you know,
00:59:37 like he's just in cruise control right now,
00:59:38 and everything's coming together so easily for him,
00:59:41 especially on the defensive end of the floor,
00:59:42 which is something that Joe Mazzullo talked about,
00:59:44 how it wasn't a matter of, you know,
00:59:47 Chris Stapps being more disciplined on the end of the floor,
00:59:50 but it was just a matter of getting used to things,
00:59:52 the way the system works and how timing is everything,
00:59:55 and here we are in April,
00:59:56 and he's shown just how not only committed
00:59:59 he is on the end of the floor,
01:00:00 but just how he's able to adapt
01:00:02 and just create defensive stuff at the rim
01:00:04 that just seemed like unlikely at times.
01:00:07 You know, there was one play in particular,
01:00:08 I think it was, what was it, Giddy?
01:00:11 No, it wasn't Giddy, it was someone,
01:00:13 I forget who it was.
01:00:14 - The one where he came from behind?
01:00:16 - Yes, yeah, like he cleared Jalen,
01:00:18 and he's thinking he's good, oh, I'm in the clear,
01:00:20 and then Porzingis comes out of nowhere
01:00:22 after scoring on the opposite end of the floor.
01:00:24 I mean, like that's the stuff that puts the team ahead,
01:00:27 you know what I mean?
01:00:28 Like that's like, that stuff kills
01:00:29 not only runs for opposing teams,
01:00:32 but just overall, just like the momentum, you know?
01:00:35 And I feel like those are the type of plays
01:00:37 that you're gonna see, especially in the playoffs,
01:00:38 where the entire league's gonna see just how dominant
01:00:42 or how different the team is when he's out there
01:00:45 and playing at this level.
01:00:46 So I can't wait.
01:00:48 - The defense impresses me at times,
01:00:50 and especially when he's out there with Warford.
01:00:53 I love that combination, John.
01:00:55 I know we've had many double big debates
01:00:58 over the last three years.
01:01:00 That look is excellent.
01:01:03 And it's gonna be there-
01:01:03 - It's just nice to be able to play different looks.
01:01:05 That's the thing is like, it's better when you can do,
01:01:09 when you can change up and do things differently
01:01:12 and still beat teams is much better
01:01:15 than when you've only got one gear, right?
01:01:17 So yes, it's nice to be able to dip into that double big
01:01:21 whenever you need it and see some success there
01:01:23 on those teams.
01:01:24 It's nice to be able to play a three guard lineup
01:01:27 from time to time if that's the way you wanna go.
01:01:29 Like, I actually wish I'd like to see them do
01:01:31 straight up small ball every once in a while
01:01:34 just to see how that is with Tatum at the five.
01:01:36 You've seen that like once or twice all year,
01:01:39 but not really.
01:01:40 But yeah, I'm not opposed to double big.
01:01:43 I just, this team, I think the last two years, Bobby,
01:01:47 the problem with it was you really only had
01:01:49 two playable bigs.
01:01:51 So you start them both and then it messes
01:01:52 with your rotations.
01:01:54 I love what they have going here because of the spacing
01:01:57 and the ability of the switching and everybody out there
01:02:00 on the floor and just to have the one guy
01:02:03 kind of sitting back there in center field
01:02:04 and Porzingis and waiting at the rim.
01:02:06 I think it plays perfectly.
01:02:08 I don't think you wanna use it more
01:02:10 than you're currently using it, but it's nice when you can.
01:02:13 - Yeah, especially when, you know,
01:02:16 if there's stretches throughout the game
01:02:18 where they're struggling in the playoffs,
01:02:19 I think we're gonna see this lineup.
01:02:21 You know, I do think it's something that Joe Mazzuolo
01:02:24 is gonna fall back on in the playoffs.
01:02:26 And I like it.
01:02:27 You know, obviously, you would like to see it
01:02:29 against a team at full strength,
01:02:31 especially a team like OKC playing
01:02:32 without two of their best scorers.
01:02:34 But, you know, it's good to see them in stride
01:02:38 the way they are right now, you know,
01:02:40 especially with the playoffs just around the corner.
01:02:42 - Can't not ask Bobby this question,
01:02:44 but can we all agree this was basically
01:02:47 a playoff type rotation tonight?
01:02:50 - Max.
01:02:52 - And it got chopped off at what number?
01:02:55 - Your third set.
01:02:57 - Lemon squares.
01:02:59 - Yeah, he's not gonna play in a matchup like this.
01:03:04 - He's your ninth rotation player.
01:03:06 (laughing)
01:03:09 - You have a guy in the matchup.
01:03:12 From the perimeter, so yeah, it's a matchup, Jimmy.
01:03:16 - You think so?
01:03:17 Again, I just, I don't think there's gonna be
01:03:19 a lot of minutes there for him in the playoffs.
01:03:21 - There's not, there's not gonna be a lot of minutes.
01:03:24 - It'll be matchup based though, right, John?
01:03:25 I think if it's a team--
01:03:27 - Which matchup calls for Luke Cornett, for real?
01:03:30 - Cleveland.
01:03:31 - I mean, when you put it in a lot--
01:03:32 - Like, the folding chair that--
01:03:36 - You could see him against Denver, potentially.
01:03:39 (laughing)
01:03:41 - He's your best pastry chef.
01:03:44 (laughing)
01:03:45 - Listen, we talked about the other night, John.
01:03:48 - I'm sorry, I couldn't do it.
01:03:49 - I can't do the voice.
01:03:50 Jimmy crushes it, I can't do the voice.
01:03:53 - Joe said the other night on the radio in Charlotte,
01:03:57 "We've gotten to those second unit looks all year.
01:04:00 "We've used all those guys successfully.
01:04:02 "We have to continue to use them,
01:04:05 "and that's not gonna change in the playoffs."
01:04:07 So unless he's lying, he's intending to use all these guys.
01:04:11 - I think he will, I think he will.
01:04:12 - Joe wouldn't lie to you, Bobby.
01:04:13 Joe wouldn't ever lie to you.
01:04:18 - It wasn't me, it was to Randy, but.
01:04:20 - Listen, we can all agree that if there are minutes,
01:04:25 they're not gonna be a lot of minutes,
01:04:26 and that's how it should be when you get to the playoffs.
01:04:28 You go like eight--
01:04:29 - But you feel pretty good about this eight.
01:04:31 - Yeah, you like the eight.
01:04:32 You've got Warford, and then Pritchard and Hauser
01:04:35 have really rounded out the eight.
01:04:37 - I like how this said, when he plays well,
01:04:41 we can't talk about him.
01:04:42 It's, "Oh, Luke's coming up."
01:04:43 Now he doesn't play.
01:04:44 I wasn't even gonna mention him,
01:04:46 and now it's a whole topic here.
01:04:48 - Do you see how it goes?
01:04:49 - Of course you weren't gonna mention him.
01:04:50 - You're starting to get it.
01:04:51 - It goes both ways, Bobby, what do you mean?
01:04:54 - Can we talk about--
01:04:55 - When he has one good game out of 10,
01:04:57 and I talk about it, you guys don't want to,
01:05:00 but when he doesn't, you know.
01:05:01 - No, look, we're just-- - Let's talk about
01:05:04 the people who played.
01:05:05 - We're messing around, we're messing around.
01:05:07 I'm more talking about, in general,
01:05:10 I think you're going, it's not an,
01:05:13 Tillman's not gonna play a fricking second either.
01:05:15 It's not an either or.
01:05:16 I think you're pretty locked in with your eight.
01:05:18 You will sneak a few minutes in from a couple of those guys,
01:05:21 depending on the situation, foul trouble, whatever it is.
01:05:24 But I think you feel pretty good about it, right?
01:05:26 Like, I think you've--
01:05:27 - I feel really good about the bench.
01:05:29 - This might be the first time,
01:05:31 the way Hauser and Pritchard played,
01:05:32 I'd say the greatest thing that happened
01:05:35 in the last however many games here, you know.
01:05:38 - Like 15.
01:05:40 - Whatever it is, Hauser, you know,
01:05:44 being, doing what he's done, you know,
01:05:47 before spraining the ankle and then coming back from it
01:05:49 again, knocking down the threes.
01:05:50 And then Pritchard, his command of the second unit offense
01:05:54 as the point guard and the way that he's able to distribute
01:05:57 and really, really run the offense
01:06:00 has been unfrickin' believable.
01:06:02 I think you feel a ton better. - I tweeted out, John,
01:06:03 during the game. - Yeah.
01:06:05 - Six of his highest 13 assist games ever
01:06:09 have come since March began.
01:06:12 - Right, it's amazing.
01:06:13 - He's, that's the biggest change for him
01:06:15 because it's now, it's like, you feel really good
01:06:18 with him out there making good decisions.
01:06:20 Before it was get his offense,
01:06:22 now he's making good decisions
01:06:23 and getting other people buckets.
01:06:25 It's like you actually, now we've gone
01:06:28 from surviving minutes to actually looking forward
01:06:31 to these minutes.
01:06:33 Totally different vibe, right?
01:06:35 At least that's where I am on it.
01:06:37 It's much more confident in seeing those guys in there
01:06:40 as opposed to like, oh, jeez,
01:06:42 I gotta get him out of there.
01:06:43 - No, it's what you want.
01:06:50 I mean, this is how it's supposed to be this time of year.
01:06:54 It is, so not unusual there.
01:06:58 - We talked about it on Monday night.
01:07:00 The Hauser, I think it was Monday night.
01:07:02 - The Hauser revelation's been huge.
01:07:04 - That's pretty exact.
01:07:05 Bobby, take the words out of my mouth.
01:07:08 Go on, go on, Bobby.
01:07:08 You haven't been on the show long.
01:07:10 - He has nine games this year.
01:07:12 We said this Monday, John.
01:07:13 Nine games with five plus threes.
01:07:16 If he has a game like that in the playoffs, you're winning.
01:07:20 So it's just huge.
01:07:23 And they've been looking for a guy like that
01:07:24 for a long time.
01:07:25 Last year, you didn't have him as a post-season player.
01:07:28 This year, you know he's gonna be a staple.
01:07:30 It's a huge difference over last year.
01:07:32 There's so many differences going into this post-season
01:07:34 versus last year, too many to name.
01:07:37 This is a significant one,
01:07:39 along with the Pritchard development.
01:07:40 And who knows if Kluk's in there or not.
01:07:43 Just having one guy in that group
01:07:47 who you know is gonna perform every night,
01:07:49 that could be the edge in any given game.
01:07:51 So it continues to be an advantage.
01:07:53 It's been an advantage for them all year.
01:07:55 I still think they're first and plus minus with the bench.
01:07:58 It's something that really gives you confidence.
01:08:01 It's a different game in the playoffs.
01:08:02 We gotta see how these guys translate.
01:08:04 But each performance just gives you more confidence in them.
01:08:07 So I'm super confident in each one of those guys
01:08:10 going into the playoffs.
01:08:11 Even Tillman, who I think is just
01:08:13 showing a little bit more,
01:08:15 I know he doesn't play in a game tonight,
01:08:17 but every game I watch Tillman,
01:08:19 I feel like he's showing a little bit more.
01:08:21 So he's at least a guy you can
01:08:23 potentially angle for some minutes here.
01:08:26 - And I think you're gonna feel five on the five to eight,
01:08:29 or five to eight minutes that either Tillman or Cornette
01:08:32 or whomever get in the playoffs,
01:08:35 because I think you'll be able to sustain it
01:08:36 with the way everybody else is playing around them.
01:08:39 We talk about all the potential X factors here,
01:08:42 Hauser, Pritchard, Porzingis being healthy
01:08:45 or Porzingis being dominant might be the biggest one.
01:08:47 It's hard to call a guy who's arguably been,
01:08:50 I mean, your second or third best player all year long
01:08:53 here an X factor.
01:08:55 But it's again, it's almost like stolen money
01:08:59 to have him, to even have him on your team
01:09:02 and to be able to play at this level
01:09:05 when you've also got the two Js
01:09:07 and everybody else around him.
01:09:08 Here's Porzingis talking after the game about,
01:09:11 he was great tonight,
01:09:13 he still doesn't think he's all the way back.
01:09:16 - Spoiler alert. - Producer boy.
01:09:20 - My legs are a little bit better,
01:09:23 but mostly it's just starting to like
01:09:29 turn up a little bit more.
01:09:33 Understanding that we have like playoffs soon.
01:09:36 I wanna be at the best moment for the playoffs.
01:09:41 And yeah, just getting into that mindset
01:09:47 and yeah, finishing the regular season strong.
01:09:52 That's what I'm trying to do.
01:09:53 - That's what he's trying to do.
01:09:58 - Yeah. - Atta boy.
01:10:02 - I'm stoked with that.
01:10:03 - Bobby, what else you got?
01:10:05 Again, we've been around the horn a couple of times.
01:10:07 Anything else?
01:10:08 - Jalen, Bobby, you buying this?
01:10:16 - We could circle back to Jalen.
01:10:18 We had it on the injury, but.
01:10:20 - Why don't we get Joe Suez today?
01:10:22 - How are you feeling about it?
01:10:25 - You worried?
01:10:26 - A little bit, a little bit.
01:10:30 I just hope it's something that he can get used to.
01:10:34 I'm sure he will.
01:10:34 I just hope it's not one of those things
01:10:36 where it's like, oh, it's flaring up this week
01:10:38 in the middle of games three and four of a series.
01:10:41 You know what I mean?
01:10:42 I just, that's the thing that worries me.
01:10:44 That we'll get like good Jalen
01:10:46 and now, oh, he's a little sore.
01:10:48 Or, oh, he committed six turnovers because he went left.
01:10:51 You know what I mean?
01:10:52 I just, that's the part that kind of worries me.
01:10:53 And I'm not just thinking about last year's
01:10:56 Eastern Conference Final game seven.
01:10:57 It's not just about that.
01:10:59 I mean, I think a lot of what we've seen
01:11:01 out of Jalen this year, you know,
01:11:02 he's continued to improve on the defensive end of the floor.
01:11:05 You know, he set that goal.
01:11:07 He's achieved it, if you ask me.
01:11:10 I don't know if he's--
01:11:10 - I love the defense.
01:11:12 - I don't know if he's all NBA first team,
01:11:13 but I mean, he certainly, he stepped it up a notch.
01:11:17 I mean, they all have as a team.
01:11:18 But that's the only thing that I'm worried about.
01:11:21 If that thing flares up and, you know,
01:11:23 it's something that, it's a nagging injury
01:11:26 that circles back mid-May or so, or late May,
01:11:30 you know, before Eastern Conference Final series
01:11:31 or something like that.
01:11:32 That's my only thing.
01:11:33 So I just wanted to throw that out there for you guys,
01:11:34 'cause I didn't, I wasn't in on that conversation.
01:11:37 - He had the chase down block or strip, whatever it was.
01:11:41 He had a charge take, I think, at one point.
01:11:44 He had the steal and breakout against Wallace there
01:11:47 on the dunk.
01:11:48 There's a disruptiveness to his defensive game
01:11:52 as Jimmy takes off that--
01:11:55 They need, they need that.
01:11:57 And I asked him, you know,
01:11:58 is it something the coaches, you know, system,
01:12:01 like what's led to his defensive turnaround this year?
01:12:04 And he said that it's been him embracing
01:12:08 individual matchups more.
01:12:10 You know, he said those certain matchups
01:12:12 Smart might've taken in the past,
01:12:14 as an example, that he's embracing now.
01:12:17 And I think we've said that about him before.
01:12:19 When he can key in on a matchup, an individual,
01:12:22 that's where he's at his best.
01:12:24 And they've allowed him to do that more often this year,
01:12:26 which plays to his strength,
01:12:28 probably gets him in the right mindset.
01:12:29 You want him to be playing team basketball on that end,
01:12:31 but you also want to play to a guy's strengths.
01:12:34 And he's just rolling on that end.
01:12:36 Horford said he should be first team all defense.
01:12:39 I think he should be in consideration for, you know,
01:12:41 one of those spots on the other team.
01:12:44 And one thing I haven't loved about their defense this year
01:12:48 is they don't force turnovers.
01:12:50 They're not a team that goes out
01:12:52 and disrupts like those EMA defenses do.
01:12:55 They play more analytical, as we've talked about, John.
01:12:57 But when he gets aggressive and turns up the heat
01:13:00 in that backcourt, they can get disruptive.
01:13:03 And I feel like, you know,
01:13:03 I mentioned the double big combination earlier.
01:13:06 There's certain things again, too, the Pelicans game,
01:13:10 they're turning up the heat defensively
01:13:12 in a way that really excites me.
01:13:13 'Cause we know how dangerous they are offensively.
01:13:17 If they can be dangerous defensively, that's scary.
01:13:20 'Cause I feel like they have a ceiling on that end
01:13:22 that no other team can get to.
01:13:23 And I think it's who they should be.
01:13:25 They aren't gonna have the best offensive nights every night.
01:13:29 They're gonna go cold from three,
01:13:30 which is still what they rely on immensely offensively.
01:13:33 You have to be able to really disrupt the game defensively
01:13:37 to get yourself out on the run, get easy baskets,
01:13:40 and just take advantage of a variety of opponents.
01:13:43 And they can do that.
01:13:44 So what Brown said, Porzingis being consistent on that end,
01:13:48 them going to those bigger lineups and having success,
01:13:51 and the guards, the forwards all playing
01:13:54 with a motor on that side.
01:13:58 That's what I think drives your championship, Ron.
01:14:00 You're gonna hit some shots, some games,
01:14:01 you're gonna go in these blowouts,
01:14:03 but when you're in a tight game,
01:14:04 you have to hang your hat on defense.
01:14:06 I've said it for the whole time I've been on this show,
01:14:08 I still feel that way.
01:14:10 - Well, it's the one thing that you know
01:14:11 that if things aren't going, if your shot isn't falling,
01:14:15 what keeps you in the game is exactly that.
01:14:18 A team like the Celtics that's gonna keep
01:14:21 its approach going, they're gonna keep jacking threes,
01:14:23 they're gonna keep playing their style,
01:14:25 and eventually it's gonna, it's happened all year,
01:14:30 even bad shooting first halves will turn around for them.
01:14:33 The defense is what keeps you alive, right?
01:14:35 So like, it's not an option.
01:14:37 The games where things get loose on them
01:14:40 is when they're hitting everything in the first half,
01:14:43 but then they just decide to stop playing defense.
01:14:45 Then the shots don't fall,
01:14:47 then the other team comes roaring back,
01:14:49 and you've seen that happen, you saw Indiana do it to 'em,
01:14:52 you know, last time they played.
01:14:54 So yeah, that's, defense is key for sure.
01:14:59 We wanna mention again, the voting is still going on,
01:15:02 you can continue to vote on Twitter.
01:15:04 Luke Cornett may not have played tonight,
01:15:06 but you might very well be looking
01:15:08 at an all Luke Cornett finals right now,
01:15:11 as Lemon Squares was a big--
01:15:14 - What does that say?
01:15:16 - Huh?
01:15:16 Lemon Squares is ahead of you got Tanguayed.
01:15:19 - I guess we talk about him too much.
01:15:21 - He's your third center.
01:15:22 He says, it says that the joke--
01:15:25 - He's your third center.
01:15:27 - The joke is working is what it means.
01:15:28 The bet is working, Bobby.
01:15:30 - It's working.
01:15:31 - Yeah, we need to keep coming at you a little bit.
01:15:35 - We gotta, I think to celebrate--
01:15:38 - It's red meat, okay?
01:15:39 It's, the people love it.
01:15:42 - I think he's your third center.
01:15:44 I think he's your third center is gonna win.
01:15:47 And to celebrate, I told them that we gotta get a t-shirt,
01:15:51 number 40 with he's your third center on it.
01:15:53 I think it's gonna be a great look.
01:15:54 - All right, let's, for the kids right now,
01:15:58 let's play the clip one more time.
01:16:00 - Luke, when Luke, what do you want us to do?
01:16:04 Cut him, you know, like he gets really--
01:16:05 - Yeah, what do you want for your third center?
01:16:07 (laughing)
01:16:09 He's your third center, John.
01:16:11 - I hate the Luke talk and I hate the Tillman talk.
01:16:13 - We keep criticizing this guy.
01:16:15 - What do you want from him?
01:16:17 - And done more than anyone has ever expected, except me.
01:16:22 He's your third center.
01:16:24 - The pacing is impeccable.
01:16:27 (laughing)
01:16:29 Like Bobby's speech pattern, that was dead on.
01:16:32 Like that speech pattern.
01:16:33 - He's your third center.
01:16:35 - He's your third center.
01:16:37 - Yes.
01:16:37 (laughing)
01:16:40 - What do you want from him, John?
01:16:42 (laughing)
01:16:44 - And it's so true.
01:16:46 - It is true.
01:16:47 - We did, I tried to make the case
01:16:49 he was the best third center in the league.
01:16:51 I got some good names like Naj Reed and Isaiah Horenstein,
01:16:54 so he's not, but he's up there.
01:16:56 And listen, when your third center makes a mistake,
01:16:59 it's fine, 'cause he's your third center.
01:17:01 You don't expect him to be perfect.
01:17:03 - And he doesn't deserve to get crap done.
01:17:05 It's a bit, we go back and forth.
01:17:08 The entire joke has always been,
01:17:11 we actually agree with Bobby for the most part
01:17:16 that Luke is about as good as he is, sort of.
01:17:20 But Bobby takes it just here,
01:17:22 and then we have to knock it down to reality.
01:17:25 And it makes it feel like we're shitting on Luke,
01:17:27 but we're not.
01:17:28 Everybody I think likes Luke,
01:17:30 and thinks he's made terrific contributions all year long.
01:17:32 We really have.
01:17:33 But I think Bobby just elevates him a little bit past me.
01:17:38 So we gotta pull him back in, that's all that happens.
01:17:41 - That's all that happens.
01:17:42 - And then, and then.
01:17:43 - We gotta pull him back.
01:17:44 - Luke will have like, you know, not above average,
01:17:48 but above what you expect from him type of performance.
01:17:51 And Bobby's like, "What's up, guys?"
01:17:53 And we're like, "Bobby, we know, he's not a bad player."
01:17:58 But you have to like-
01:17:58 - Well, you wouldn't know it reading the chat sometimes.
01:18:01 - You might.
01:18:02 - He's your third center!
01:18:03 - He's your third center!
01:18:06 - That's the next feature.
01:18:06 - I know, I know.
01:18:07 - Bobby, you, Bobby, you win.
01:18:09 You win this year.
01:18:11 You win the Luke Conway.
01:18:13 - Absolutely, absolutely.
01:18:15 - He exceeded expectations.
01:18:17 You absolutely win on the Luke Conway.
01:18:19 - He cracked the rotation, sir.
01:18:21 - I'll take it, I'll take it.
01:18:23 - It's a victory, but it's a fun bit,
01:18:24 so we keep it going.
01:18:25 Anyway, we're gonna wrap.
01:18:26 We're back, a couple more games this week.
01:18:29 Playing out the stretch, Celtics get the 60 wins.
01:18:31 Celtics clinched the number one overall seed in the NBA.
01:18:34 - Oh, I want everybody to see this.
01:18:36 - 60 wins means the hard hat comes out the first time.
01:18:39 - I want everyone to see that it's right by my side,
01:18:42 ready to go on.
01:18:44 - The spring's here.
01:18:44 - He's your third center, number 40.
01:18:49 We're making that jersey.
01:18:50 It's gonna say 40.
01:18:51 He's your third center on the back, that's it.
01:18:54 - There aren't many guys,
01:18:56 there aren't many guys in the league I like more than Luke.
01:18:59 But one of them's coming to the garden.
01:19:01 One of them's coming to the garden on Friday.
01:19:03 DeMontis Sabonis.
01:19:06 - That guy is otherworldly.
01:19:09 - He's so good.
01:19:11 - I think he just broke the modern NBA record
01:19:16 for double doubles in a row since the merger.
01:19:19 And he'll be in MVP votes this year.
01:19:22 So he's gonna be a lot to handle.
01:19:24 - MVP votes?
01:19:26 - It's amazing.
01:19:27 - It might be the first time a guy gets MVP votes
01:19:29 that didn't make the all-star game.
01:19:31 - Well, he finished sixth last year, or seventh.
01:19:34 So he's in that range.
01:19:35 - I love Sabonis.
01:19:36 I've always been a huge Sabonis guy.
01:19:38 - It happened to Butler a couple of years ago too.
01:19:41 - Everyone talks about that trade.
01:19:44 They always talk about Halliburton.
01:19:45 But Sabonis is doing amazing out there in Sacramento.
01:19:50 - He's been great.
01:19:52 So we're back Friday and Sunday
01:19:55 with two more games at the garden.
01:19:56 We are gonna wrap it once again.
01:19:58 Vote, you still have time to vote in the bracket.
01:20:01 You have time to go out and get these awesome shirts here
01:20:04 that we got today.
01:20:05 Bobby got one too.
01:20:07 A lot of fun.
01:20:08 - How's it look?
01:20:10 - Yeah, I love it.
01:20:12 - Same color or different colors?
01:20:14 - All different colors, all good stuff.
01:20:16 But yes, thank you guys for hanging out.
01:20:19 We will see you guys again on Friday.
01:20:23 - Hey, Amit's got an outro for us, I think.
01:20:26 - No, he doesn't.
01:20:26 - You said he was gonna work on an outro.
01:20:29 - He had a phenomenal game.
01:20:31 - Phenomenal.
01:20:34 - Corforate's out, I think it's an option.
01:20:36 (laughing)
01:20:39 - That did not sound like a chair.
01:20:41 - It was a freaking chair.
01:20:43 It does sound like a chair.
01:20:44 (upbeat music)
01:20:47 (upbeat music)
