00:16 Charlie is disruptive and distracting.

00:18 She should be failed out of this rotation.

00:20 That's a harsh assessment.

00:22 And one you can't make until she's completed her rotation.

00:27 I want to opt out of being a teaching attending.

00:29 You can't do that, Sean. This is a teaching hospital. You can't opt out.

00:33 Well, actually, you can, but you'd lose access to the residents.

00:38 I prefer to work alone.

00:39 Then you'd stick to simple surgeries.

00:41 Lap colis, appendectomies, hernia repairs...

00:49 She interrupts me, and when I point out her mistakes, she just argues with me.

01:13 So how about you try a compliment sandwich?

01:16 When you need to give negative feedback, stick it between layers of praise.
